but there was no corrosion on that weight
unlike the 2nd gen stock weights, MASSIVE corrosion on them, at least the '11 model with steel wheels does for some reason
will get a pic of that for later

Different coating possibly... last time I dealt with a wheel weight was when I did my gf's impala motor mount. Found a wheel weight stuck in the grease on the frame rail!

i'm not clear from that link which wheels you have, but I would never spend that kinda green.

Marketplace seems to be the current hotspot for buying used. Of course there's a risk you take. I've seen virtually every stock OEM on there in sets at one point or another, usually in very very good shape. That will be my first source when I decide I need to spend on it. Figuring with the next tire change, which is still 30k miles off :fingerscrossed:

15" alloys, i have absolute no clue why they are that much!
i am going to first go the route of this alloy wheel repair company out of KC that quoted me 600~700 for all 4, they might also have some used refinished ones that i can check into
they come to my place, put truck on jacks, remove wheels and take them to their shop and bring them back

Yeah, Those are getting pretty long inthe tooth. Anything used is likely to look...well, like the pic I posted. Can they be refurbished?

Poorly worded. I know those are the old 15's, I meant is this what he's running/looking for.

I love those old wheels and have wondered if anyone ever threw them on a 2.5 gen...

i had them looked at by a local mobile alloy wheel repair place to get a quote
it sounded promising! and would keep the same machined surface he said, which the powdercoating would not

Stocker got a workout today. carried a Rick of hardwood about 30 miles. She still had a little bounce left in her.

    Afternoon fellas!

Well tomorrow might be the day I sell the GTI. Local dealer in town needs cars and roughly offered me $1500ish more than I owe. Figure it's time, I don't drive it enough. After it's gone it'll be time to hunt down a new Tacoma.
