question: I replaced the tailgate skin and top cap with press-brake formed aluminum. The height varies a bit now, between the side rails and the tail gate. Would the truxedo allow for some sort of gasket to be added? Is it a smooth rail across the tailgate?

I had the trays for over 10 years. I don't remember if the trays were the same color as your picture or a yellow(ish) color. I think it was close
to your picture. As you mentioned before the color turned with age.

The only reason I don't buy new trays is every tray I looked at was made from thinner wood.

I already bought the sandpaper. The poly was out of stock.

 

Are the hinge functional or just to hold the top?

It will be good if the legs comes off and the top fold down, for space savings.

There's no rail across the tailgate. There's a rubber flap that hangs down along the back edge of the tailgate cap.

I've only had that little one a few months (I don't think it's even made anymore) and only used it twice. Can't really speak to the quality for long term use.

I’ve got an 06 and my console latch mechanism broke last night. I’ll be looking into what they cost at Toyota on Monday. Just wondering if anyone knows of an aftermarket company that makes good quality Toyota parts I could check. Just to avoid the highway robbery the dealerships get for parts.
