I was wondering if anybody'd spot that

Nah, a friends. 4wd doesn't work so I was taking a look at it. Either the front vacuum or front diff actuator is FUBAR. Also needs a water pump and is rockin' the OEM 2003 serpentine belt. Not bad for 86,000 miles. If it were mine I'd rip into it, but it's their only vehicle. Also wants my recommendation on tires as the old style Goodyear Wranglers, while have 1/2 tread are junk as far as traction. Trying to find a good local shop to take care of it.

That's really low mileage for an '03.

    4.3?

Yup, 4.3 with the 4 speed automatic. Originally owned by an older fella then someone bought it for a commuter. Her 1999 GMC Sonoma had almost 200K before she got this truck, but it was a 5 speed. That truck is now in New Jersey still running. I helped her get this '03, was a little bit expensive, but it's the biggest truck she feels comfortable in.

I have a soft spot for S10's. I loved my '99, but it was 2wd and did nothing for me in the snow.

Yup, shaven as well. Don't forget to keep the rear end waxed!

The 4.3 was a a decent engine. Like so many early GM V6s....it was based on a 90° V8. In the case of the 4.3....it was a 350 with 2 cylinders cut off.
