Another day, another dumbass. Off to the boonies to chew out a logger for driving equipment and dragging logs over our 1440psi pipeline..
Already taking bets on the 1st excuse being "I didn't know there was a pipeline here" despite the giant right of way and bright yellow markers he's mowing over.

Is it buried ? Is there a weight limit sign?

I got a "I just drive the skid, idk" excuse from one and a "Oh you're marking the gas line!?" from the other to which I said "yeah, didn't get a phone call but those mushroom clouds from the explosion get the message across too". The oil pipeline technician said he had given them my info and said they needed to call us as well and they never did. I've dealt with this logger/company in the past, same old bs.
There's a bright yellow 'WARNING GAS PIPELINE call # prior to any work' on all of the markers along the pipeline (they're everywhere). The weight limits change depending on tracks/tires/axle amount/depth of cover/soil conditions/etc. So that's why we just ask for a damned phone call to do a site visit and verify before they go tearing us up. The only thing needed is mats on the pipe if it's anything less than ideal conditions.. It's a PHMSA/fed regulation that's above my paygrade, I just try to enforce it. I can't babysit 200 miles 24/7 so these ones slip through every so often. Can't hide from the helicopter though.. :D

Yeup Can’t go outside without somebody watching you from the helicopter or a drone or a camera. So much for minding your own business.
