So what counts as stock? I’ve got 5100’s set at 0 and an add a leaf in the back that I really needed for loads....do i still qualify?

Here you go, bought in November 2015 with 27k miles, 4 years of use and abuse later I’m at 150k, no real issues, although I suspect a wheel bearing replacement is creeping up on me. Lots of miles pulling trailers, lots of nights camping out of the back, lots of scratches from trails and farm use since we’ve started the farm.

FWIW I went with 5100s when time came for shocks because of the rave reviews of them and I could still set them at 0 for stock height, and them being cheaper than prices I saw for OEM replacements it seemed a no brainer. Gotta say though I don’t see what all the fuss is about. The add a leaf has done wonders for the perpetual sagging rear end from loads, trailers, and the leer cap. I’m happy I did it. Most of the miles on the truck were before all that though and this thing is very capable bone stock, I’ve always been impressed. It’s gone places daily drivers should probably not be going haha. Which is why it’s a scratch and dent model. My parents have a pristine 2013 dcsb with only like 20k on it and it’s always washed and waxed, and my dad shakes his head every time he sees my truck. Always dirty on the outside, but I keep up on all the mechanical maintenance and fluid film the frame every year. I have no doubt it will last quite a while. I’m hoping for at least 400k before it bites the dust or gets quarantined for farm-only use.

Thanks, like you I see and appreciate some cool built vehicles out there and there was a time when I thought that was a worthwhile endeavor, and I built a Jeep up a bit in my younger days, but now I’ve just got other things to do with my time and money rather than throw it into a depreciating project, no matter the cool factor. Truck does me just fine way it is. Could use a bit more payload capacity but I knew what I bought so no real complaints.

The wife’s Corolla is no longer officially 100% stock. Got rid of the single disc "beep beep" horn and upgraded to dual high and low tone trumpets. Sounds like a '77 LTD now.
