And the other stock ride that I drove today. It’s a 2003 as well and has 163k miles. I rarely drive it.

I told my wife it’s easier to describe to someone if I’m meeting them somewhere :D

This was me. When I was a young father and husband and couldn't afford a mechanic. I had a pretty good set. Then my rollaway tool chest....rolled away. From a garage in Chicago. My own fault. At that point I was buying better cars and needed less. Now I approach tools like I approach mods to my truck...when I NEED X, I buy X, and try to leave Y and Z on the shelf til next time. I was a machinist in an earlier life and had access to good tools, now as joe consumer, most stuff is sh*t it seems.

    where do you find 'em?

I'm a machinist, I've been here in the same shop for almost 26 years.

There's a MAC tool salesman who lives a few miles from me, I can send him a message and if he doesn't have what I need on his truck he'll get it for me. I also do some welding for him from time to time and we trade my work for tools, it's a win win for both of us.

Right on! I often wished I'd stayed on the bench and left the schmoozing and administering to others. I miss those days. Fortunately my Kennedy did NOT roll away and I still have my precision measurement tools.

It's the 6.6L Duramax. I can't imagine what kind of mileage the 8.1L gets. I get 16-17 around town in it, same thing with my Tacoma

Not really brand specific, just sorta see what I need and wait for a decent option to go on sale
