    Is the garage heated?

    Will the water freeze?

The garage isn't heated yet, we have that propane heater for now.
The chicken water? That'll freeze eventually. They chug it down in the morning then I give them a top-off of water when I get home. They're high maintenance.

We bought a heated bucket for our goats to keep theirs from freezing, I know chickens don't drink much though.

About a gallon per day so not bad. I looked at heated water buckets but they need their waterers cleaned a few times per week anyways so I didn't bother. That and the whole fire-risk with heated elements in a giant box with flammable shavings.
They have an LED red light for the evenings and that's mounted up in the ceiling where they can't knock it over. My husband and I call it the brothel just because of how they look in there with the red light in the background.

Beside a heated water container, is there anything that can be added to the water safely for consumption to slow down the freezing process?

None that I know of. They drink it before it freezes usually and never go more than 8 hours without water. They'll be aight'

Years ago, I survived a fall through the ice in February. Why anyone would willingly subject themselves to that is beyond me. :der:

    Oh boy...

I ordered this a while back thinking it wouldn't be shipped until March. Just got the shipping notification. Arriving next week. I may not pass the stock/not-stock algorithm. Plan on using this during the May-November timeframe for work and canoe. Will put Tonneau Cover back on for the winter months.

The cold water shrinks more things than peoples ego.

The last Polar Bear plunge I went to, only the women was in the water.

So a rack takes us out of the stock category?

    I’m history then.
