Yea as I've mentioned before mine is a drunken asshole who abused my mother and me in my early teens before me and my mother moved away from that nonsense. I tried to somewhat reconnect since I moved back in the area, but it's not worth it. I'm doing well in life, I don't need any more drama. Only reason I tried is for my grandparents on his side. I can see them whenever I want, so cut out the middle man.

Ok, that's the end of my therapy session

I understand that. But if a woman wants to knuckle-up and wale on me she better be prepared for some minor battle damage.

Just enough to end the confrontation. I'm not a savage

My father was a World War II Navy Seal veteran. I met his belt almost everyday for no reason.

People are stupid. But if there's one thing I've learned in life....it's that blood is NOT always thicker than water. Just because someone is biologically related to you doesn’t mean they can't be a dreadful human being. I learned along time ago to cut ties before they drag you under the water with them. I owe it to myself, my wife and my children to rise above that horseshit

This thread is going in a total different direction tonight. More of a serious conversation.

    I don't like it. :D

I think things are changing a bit on that these days. I know it worked in favor of a friend of mine who's wife hit him with a 2x4. He retaliated and broke her nose. He was not arrested. She was

    Yep.

I struck out with both of my parents. No matter. My validation in life comes from my ladies at home. That's all I need

It wasn't at the point of being that bad yet, but I was getting to the age where I was going to fight back, and it wasn't gonna be good...

Then I've various controlling managers/boss's over the years that have totally fucked me up emotionally. I still have constant anxiety to this day. Am I good enough, was that a good enough job, am I doing something right? My first manager at the place I'm at now didn't really help, he's not a people person. I could never get a read on him and he didn't see the inner struggle I was going through. On a whim I decided to jump ship and go to another shift. This manager is "tougher" but can read people a little bit better and understands my "inner struggle" a little bit better. I've gotten nothing but praises, so it's helping out. Still dealing with the anxiety, but him and my "new" coworkers are making it easier.

OK, so now we know more about me then I figured I'd share, but what the Hell! I get through my day with humor and whit, it's what keeps me together so I hope you guys understand.

Anxiety is a real thing. And when it's serious it can be very intrusive to life. I've watched some relatives on my wife's side battle it.

I wish you nothing but peace brother

My mother used to get in between me and his belt. Until he hit her. She threatened with the police and a divorce. It was hard for him to adjust to civilian life with PTSD. Especially after watching his best friend get blown to pieces from a land mine. Then boxing up all the body parts to send it back to his friend parents.

I'm known for joking around most of the time but I have a serious side to.

It's good to vent out sometimes or it will break you.
