It's better than my neighbor's boyfriend. He pretend to be a Toyota master tech when he can't even change a tail light bulb in his car. He's the dumbest parts worker I had to deal with. A hour to look up one number, when it took me few seconds once I got near a computer.

How about the rest of the test. :D

With my neighbor's boyfriend, I guess the dealership gets what they paid for. Minimum wage person with minimum brains.

I had to deal with all the master tech egos when I first started. Then they warmed up to me when they saw how determined I was to learn and to advanced. I had a lot experience when I first started. Most tech didn't understand why I stood there for so long while being paid shit. It was a learning experience where I wanted to learn more about diagnostic more than anything. The dealership didn't even want to buy us new uniform.

With the years behind as a tech surprise you don't have a gold metal.

    All I got was headaches.

All the master techs asses get kiss. They pick what they want to work on the rest goes to everyone else. They were on salary so it didn't matter how many vehicles they work on. Since I was at the bottom of the totem pole I get the worst of the worst of garbage to work on. Most of them are fluids leaking garbage. Most of the time I have to let the manager knows when he has white powder around his nose. Probably from to much donuts. :D

I applaud you for the time you take to work there. I just didn't have the patience to work there anymore in that environment.

Not I wish that was the case here.
    Masters get the shit.
    Can’t pick my work
Crappy shit handed to me and the other masters.
They put the jobs in the rack.
You take the next one no matter what it is.
So I can do 3 oil changes in a row, and then a rattle ( yea for someone that can’t hear to well )
Then the next basic tech can get two 30k services and a brake job.
So he can go home at the end of the week with a bigger paycheck than me.
And like now it’s real slow. So during this time of year and or a storm we stand around all day and not get paid.
    That’s how this shit rolls.
And people wonder why they hit with a upsell list.
To make up for standing around.
    Doing oil changes
    Talking to customers
    The free car wash
Talking to corporate for and hour
    Road tests.
Waiting for customer ok’s when the car is apart and you can’t get ahold of them.
Plus we have to do it
    We are tracked
    We are scored
    Welcome to my world.
My numbers are some of the lowest.
    My honesty make me poor.
    Hopefully not to much longer

The last dealership I worked for was over 10 years ago. I know things have change quite a bit. The neighbor boyfriend sometime doesn't work a full week. With COVID I know that dealership is struggling. Right after I left they added 6 more lifts plus a outside lift for the summer. But, they could afford to buy uniforms.

I know you don't want to but have you look into another dealership?

The German car dealership I went was a awesome place to work at but they were cheap. I was treated with respect.

Where can I get cheap OEM Toyota parts? I'm looking at a spare tire cover and prices are at $600.

Can not under any circumstances leave. Health insurance and pre existing conditions. Not even an option. I would not even consider starting with a different car line.
I was a Chrysler master tech for 33 years also.
My brain, and my heart, cannot fathom starting again.
For a limited amount of time left, you keep your head down and get shit done.

Actually, after last night I can be called belt monger. They somehow (well, we do know, just can't say) managed to fold 300' of belt in half yesterday at work. We had to pull it completely out, unfold it, and put it back in. Course I'm the one who had to run the rope all the way around so it could be pulled in. Boss had to just come on the radio and say "I got Adam pulling rope"... Hilarity ensued... That was almost a 12 hour day. I gotta go in early just to get my regular work done... You folks have a good day!

Is this for the rav4? I've had good luck with BAM wholesale parts for online purchases. Shipping might be brutal for something that large though.
