I know I have an 06 Tacoma with a 4.0 and I still haven't figured out how to feather the gas and get good fuel economy

My truck does just fine in the snow. Any Tacoma will do fine in the snow as long as you are smart. Just put 300 lb of weight/sand in the bed of your truck over the rear axle ,and that will help most of your problems and concerns while driving in the snow.

I know this trail well because I will also cruise it in the summer time. I made sure to have four wheel drive engage the entire time and whenever I was going down a steeper hill I would use 4 low so that I was not entirely relying on my brakes to eliminate sliding and use 4 lo to climb the hills. There was only about 5 in of loose snow on top of the hard pack. But I've used my truck to get to work in 12in or more of snow.

If you really learn how to drive your own truck then you will gain the confidence in yourself and your vehicle.

4x4 is a powerful thing but it will not defeat stupid!

Coming up on 70k miles soon. Have some service items planned then. Think I'll get a couple of them out of the way a bit early to spread them out. Might do the coolant tomorrow and the transmission next weekend.

Tip: A 22mm socket makes quick work of that pesky drain-cock. Just be careful when tightening it.

Good idea, I'll do the coolant next change.
I like to pull the steering fluid and brake fluid out of the reservoirs and refill on a regular basis.
Been thinking about a drain and fill on the trans.....

I do a suck and fill on the power steering fluid every 5k miles when I do an oil change.

I flushed my brake fluid a year and a half ago.

This is my third drain and fill on the cooling system over the years. The Valoline Zerex pink makes it convenient. Walmart carries it for $13

No issues with the power steering fluid and coolant. I'll adjust the overflow level over the next day or so.

A couple of weeks ago I soaked my leaf springs with some Liquid Wrench lubricant and rust inhibitor. Decided to do a couple of more areas. The areas around the cats are common rot places...particularly the driver's side.

I emptied nearly a whole can into the inside of the frame from different angles. There are holes that allow that. Then I coated the outside areas.

Probably do some more areas too.
