Evenin folks. Had a busy but productive day. Saw some cool rides at C&C, got the mower ready for the season, cleaned up the daughter's Yaris and wired in a switch for the DRLs I put in a couple of years ago, layed down some crabgrass preventer, washed all the salt off my snow tires and wheels, cleaned up the garage a little.

Currently waiting on the daughter's boyfriend to show up. Gonna do an oil change for him. Found some good stuff on sale at Meijer today.

 

Dang ..... spring came early in your neck of the woods. Productive day .

 

It was pretty cold here today. Windy also which made it worse . Warm weather is arriving Tuesday for a few days they say

Oil done, tires rotated, brakes checked, air pressure adjusted, fluids checked.

These Hyundai Theta engines are hard on oil. With DI they dilute the oil down to black water by the end of the interval....and are known burners too. I added close to a quart of makeup oil in 5k miles. They're also known for spinning crank bearings. Supposedly Hyundai is extending the warranty on them as a result of a class action. Not sure about this particular vehicle.

The oil cap calls for 5w/20. But the owner's manual calls for 5/30 to 10/30. WTH Hyundai? 5/30 she gets then.

But for now she seems pretty solid. Drives decent.
