Oh man. I love C2's. Best looking Corvettes they ever made. Nice find!

Wow- fantastic car! Looks like it could be a candidate for a good cleaning and minimum restoration. It would be a shame if it were hot rodded.

Looking at the images brought back a lot of memories. I was a tech at a Ferrari, Porsche/Audi Dealer back in the 80's and 90's. I had an 1986 930 in Guards Red for number of years, this and any 2 valve 928's were my favorite cars. VERY easy to drive in town. Mondials and the 924 Turbo's were rolling piles of crap. I do not miss anything carburetted anymore. Rich guys would by there wife or girl friend a 308 and I would have to put a clutch in them every 15k miles. The first year the Tesstarossa came out each dealer got 1 and that was it. Even back then Ferrari was an exclusive club. You had to be invited to come down to buy the car. This ended up costing the dealership the Ferrari franchise because they sold it to someone who was willing to pay $250k for the car rather than to who Ferrari said should get the car. Just like the casion owner in Vegas a few years back.

Not a big C2 day today... I took the polyglass tire to the llantera, that is spanish for a tire shop, and had them reseat the tires on the beads. Discount Tire wouldnt touch them. Well, Discount tire, you wont help me with my little problems you dont get my business for my big problems.
The tires took about 1/2 hour of sitting in the sun to get the flat spot out of them... I will know if they hold air in the AM. Gonna put the front of the car on blocks of wood to keep the weight off the tires for the time being.

I keep reading more and more that the market for older classic cars is disappearing fast, might just have to sell her as a barn find and not go throught the hassle. The barn find buyers want the car as is, rat poop, spider webs, everything. They want the story, it adds provenance.

Yup, I'm surprised at some of the low bids on Mecum. I hope the owners do it for the fun of it and not as in investment.

Yep... takes a car guy and lots of dollars. I was at a cars and coffe in prescot AZ a month ago and there was a gloss black Healy 3000. The closer you got the more you realized that this car was special. When i looked in the engine bay, wow, WOW. He had a Cosworth 1.6 with webber side drafts and filter screens for air filters. IIRC he had a Tremec(sp?) 5 speed behind the motor. I looked at the dash and it was a custom metal worked dash with modern gauges. I commented to him that you probably got more money in the dash than I have in what I paid for most of my vehicles. I explained that I used to have nice cars but you get tired of having some ahole key the paint or do other stuff that takes the "fun" out of owning it. He said they all get locked up in the garage at night, I commented, All? How many cars do you have, he kind of laughed a little and said over 50. I was told later on that this is the guy that invented the weed whacker.
