16k miles, have owned the truck for a year. It's also a longbed so I'm not sure if driveshaft length has any relevance.

I can't diagnose a problem if my truck doesn't show the symptom.

I wasn't arguing. I was really saying "Oh, that's right, makes sense now."

I didn't mean to insinuate you were arguing :) I just thought you genuinely were unaware of my situation.

I believe you have the 8.75 not the 8.....the 8.75 seems to be prone to the howling.

which I asked them about since I know many dealers do that. In which they said it would be up to the dealer to address warranty issues. But toyota corp warranty would be void unless you were using TRD parts.

Just relaying what I heard. But I am doubtful as well. To fully void the entire thing if they can't point at it. I guess it would come down to how much of pricks do they want to be. Do they want to go that low to say something as simple as 1 tire size up can cause major issues or just do the repair and have their service department make more money since they get paid by Toyota corp

Yep, have been wondering if driveshaft weight / length might matter to reduce or eliminate gear lash or whine. Like I said earlier, I can't diagnose what I don't have and I definitely don't have any perceptible driveline vibes or diff whine.

I've called people out in parking lots after seeing them slam their door into someone else's car. It irritates me to no end.

So have I. I realize they may have things to do but leave a note or something. I have a beater truck and it's all banged up but if I accidentally doored someone I would claim it....

Yeah man people are totally oblivious. Not a care in the world about a vehicle or anyone elses. To some of these folks a car is transportation and nothing else. Seems more often than not its a female or some low rent riff raff driving a beater swinging their doors open with reckless abandon.

Happy with the truck and I have the whine between 52-60, a little feather on/off the throttle and it's a high-pitched whine. I'm hoping it doesn't fall apart but I'm sure Toyota will fix anything that breaks.

Just broke 100 miles today. I tested this, if I feather throttle between 55-60 or so downhill, I can hear a faint noise from the end at the same time as I feel the car start to coast.

Not loud, not concerning. If it's the diff everyone's bitching about, it'll grenade eventually and get warranty replacement. If it blows up outside warranty, I have an excuse to drop in an ARB locker diff replacement.

    Y'all bitch too much.

I'm hoping my rear diff DOES explode before my warranty runs out. That would force them to fix it.....maybe.....or they would just tell me it's normal.

Maybe they will come out with a TSB prior to that happening.
