to answer your first question, yes. I work at a dealership and the new trucks we deliver to customers with these installed, 9x out of 10 have this. Id say try your luck with WT though. who knows maybe they will send you a new pair without the markings.

We only sell the WT ones. i havent seen AVS or EGR out here yet. (Hawaii is why) i always thought it was because of shipping but maybe its happening at their packaging plant. i think its really weird.

Well I'm going to address the issue with them Monday and ask them about it along with request some new ones. I'll update later.

Same here...it is the front DRIVER side that has it the worst. The passenger is quite a bit less and the rear ones i didn't really see any.

Mine were shiny once... Then after 3 years they have weathered and from some trail rides they have scratches in them...

Hearing everyone with problems on the expensive weather techs makes me glad I decided to take my chances with the cheap $35 eBay in channel visors

Well the fit was great! If it wasn't for those ugly wavy swirl marks in the acrylic it would be perfect! I'm just trying to get an idea of who else had this on there's too.

Yes, last Dec. order a set for our Rav4; very scratched up. They don't put a peel off plastic on them to protect them and ship two to a baggie; they basically scratch each other, as the fine edge which fits into the channel is very thin and sharp. It's the luck of the draw whether they come damaged or not.
I had to ship them back, and they shipped me a new set. Same packing but at least no scratches; however these TOO were damaged/irregular, had a mis-formed edge (like poor machining) and had to be replaced but they didn't make me ship back this set. No swirl marks though.

So YES Weathertech quality control, and shipping protection has deteriorated significantly.

Update 7/16/14: I received a new set and the second set has the same exact swirl marks IN the acrylic that the first set had! It's even more noticeable on this second set. They look good from straight on, but when the lights hit it from an angle you can clearly see them all over the entire visor! I plan on addressing the issue with Weathertech one more time and if I get the cold shoulder from them again saying to contact the retailer, I will just inform them that they have lost a customer for good and I'll be getting my money back and buying a set of EGRs instead!

Here is a pic of the second set I just received. Look at all the marks all over the visors! And they're not surface scratches, it must be something in the curing process bc the marks are INSIDE the acrylic!
