For those of you with 2 inch lifts, any regrets not going higher?

I'm still researching what option to go with for my lift. I initially thought a higher lift is required for 33's but that doesn't seem to be the case. I plan on mostly street driving with occasional mild trails. It seems most of the basic lift kits are around 2 inches (trd, bilstein, eibach). Has anyone gotten a 2 inch lift and wanted more? I know the springs settle over time so i'm wondering if getting some adjustable coilovers would be a good option. Also, would 2.5 inches be ok with stock UCA's?

    Oh look, another mod....
Ask all the knuckle heads in Hawaii that lifted their trucks waaaaay beyond 2 inches if they regret it.

I'm sure they don't. What about the non knuckleheads that only lifted it 2 inches?

No reason to go more as your ground clearance is determined by tire size and your articulation is limited to stock geometry.

Lifting a Tacoma doesn’t let you fit bigger tires because the front diff (unlike a live axle) is fixed to the frame.

DB lifts allow you to go higher by cutting and welding in a new cross member that lowers the differential. These are not ideal and you still run into tire fitment issues.

Tire fitment issues occur for many reasons but I recommend reading the intro to fitting 35s

https://youtu.be/_68Hc8GtLko Better to learn the platform. The only way I’ll go to anything over 2” it’s if going LT. And probably not even with that. Cheers dude!

No regrets. I ruled out drop bracket lifts a long time ago. Before I would ever do long travel, I’d buy a dirt bike or UTV.

I have a tiny bit of regret for not going to 35s. Maybe some day.
