I just had one put on my truck. It looks great, but the shop just zip tied the wheel well plastic up and under. It doesn't look like it will last very long. Just curious what other members have done (i.e. trimming the plastic) to secure this in place?

i have seen a lot of people do this to their trucks with aftermarket bumpers...kinda seems like the thing to do but then again someone else may have done something different

I used zip ties on my demello bumper. Same thing different bumper. I've seen those metal zip strips that are like zip ties if you're paranoid the plastic ones might break. Or just double them up for extra assurance? :notsure:

Looks good buddy. I think one might be in my future as well. How's the ride post all that weight on the front?
Zip ties work wonders man.. hold up to all kinda abuse....
Still got the rugged trails on there? how have they held up for you? I pulled mine off within a week of buying the truck.

The instructions for the ARB tell you to do exactly that. From your picture it doesn't look like they pulled it up all the way, I cannot see the plastic from mine anymore because its tucked up there pretty far.

    edit: Your truck looks good!

Just curious how much did a shop charge you to install? The bumper looks great, I can't wait to get one.

I was in an Toyota Off-Road shop in Golden, Co. last week. I was watching a tech install an ARB bumper just like yours. He was using zip-ties to secure the inner fenders just like you mention.

So I guess that's standard procedure.

As long as they are the thick zip ties, I think it would work...hell...I have my skid plate zip tied to my bumper...lol

The shop I bought mine from said its a 4 hour install time at $95 an hour. I had my friend at the dealer do mine and it took a little while longer for us.

The bumper comes with zip ties in the kit and the manual says to zip tie fender liners.

Stick on hood scoop from Autozone.
I trimmed mine, but I still had leftover that I didn't want to trim off. It's been zip tied for about 5 months now. It's held up just fine.

    Edit: Old thread.
