Many say going lighter is good, from most owners I've talked to about the new aluminum body its actually made it pretty bad in winter conditions since there is even less weight over the rear tires now.

Aluminum has its place, like in the hood, bumpers and wheels.
But when it come to full frames and bodies I don't think it should be there.

Now you know why F150 has $10,000 discounts and Tacomas can get more than sticker.
    Ford depreciation sucks big time.

If I was considering a 150... I'd wait till after a big hail storm, bet you get some great deals then if you don't mind driving something that looks like the surface of a golf ball. Only Ford I liked was my 1959 F250, great truck.

The f150 is the safest of all the full size...no bullshit.

The aluminum might not be as strong against dents but it doesn't intrude on the cab and crush legs or kill people. I've seen quite a few bad accidents on my job. None were aluminum. People act like sports cars haven't used aluminum for years

^ Problem with America. Me having a different opinion than someone else is "bashing". I didn't bash anyone or anything.

Can't wait to see what this forum turns into not too many years down the line when, not only are the blessed Tacomas utilizing more aluminum, but also sporting a hybrid engine.

if batteries get to the point of being good I have no issue with hybrids.

Who would really? Electric motors can go from 0% torque to 100% torque instantly, and can be very torquey.
Especially if they are smart about it and use a DC motor. DC motors are amazing with what you can accomplish with them by just having the right DC drive. I'd love to see trucks being fitted with a hybrid mix of electric and gas motors.

Mclaren, Ferrari and Porsche have proved how amazing hybrids can be now.
As long as toyota doesn't go a prius version and goes a route of having the electric motors assist the gas engine for better torque and HP would be amazing.
