I'm on both forums, those trucks have far les problems so far then the third gens...ESP the 5.0s. Both are good trucks, I don't understand why people feel what truck they drive defines them as a man. Who gives a fuck what somebody else drives. Enjoy what's yours. No reason to shit all over somebody else's vehicle.

Never owned a Ford yet been researching the 2.7L ecoboost. IF someone is reading this and has one input is appreciated. Local ford dealer has deals going on right now. I can trade my 10 taco in with 156k on the odometer and get $14k trade for a 17 f150 payment is less than $40 more than I was paying for the taco...…..

My daily driver is a 2017 F-150 crew cab with the 2.7 Ecoboost. It’s a damn beast. 25mpg Highway, comfortable, easily tows my 4Runner on my trailer which is almost 8k lbs. I’m very happy with the purchase. I’ve had 2100lbs in the bed multiple times with no issues. I actually towed almost 13k lbs with it once for about 40 miles. Kept it under 40mph and it did it just fine.

that's actually how you replace box sides on f150s. just tear it off lol. all jokes aside I would 100 percent buy a fx4 5.0 over a third gen taco.

I had one of those that I traded in for my 2.7, no ragrats. I loved my 5.0 but I have almost the same power in my 2.7 with 9mpg more.

I have been a passenger in a '17 F150 and each time we stopped at the light, the engine would stop and restart with the touch of the gas pedal. VERY annoying. I was told this is how F150 saves gas to meet the EPA standards.

Not just an F150, stop start technology has been around for a while.

I'm on my 2nd 2015+ F150 and love it. Not at all a knock on Toyota, because I loved my Tacoma too...but the F150 is a better fit for me.

Welcome to most modern vehicles now. Stop/start is used heavily by most manufacturers. You get used to it quickly or just shut it off.

FWIW.. the stop/start option can be turned off by simply pushing a button. The extremely annoying Atkinson cycle crap that Toyota uses to meet EPA regs, well, your stuck with that one!
