It definitely does not make it less stable on highways. Remove it and enjoy your truck, that damn air dam is completed useless IMO. I also did not notice any mpg changes.

Auto or manual? There are some gearing differences.

I didn’t really notice an mpg drop but I do notice the wind seemed to push me more on windy days on the highway. It’s obviously not enough to prevent removing it but just enough you’d probably notice it the first time or two.

    Yep.

If equipped with the same transmission the MPG ratings will be the same between the trims.

It's a two pound aesthetic spoiler that a four year old child could fold into a burrito. It's not stabilizing a 4,500 pound truck at any speed.

It improves aerodynamics at high speeds. The Sport needs it because of it's higher horsepower output. The other models don't go fast enough to require one.

Distributor or dealer packages could impact MPG ratings. For example the XP Predator package that is sold with GY Wrangler Duratrac tires mounted on 17-19 TRD Pro wheels.

Those GYs have to provide a marginal decrease in rolling resistance compared to the same trim that does not have the XP package.

The claim that removing that ugly flap reduces stability on the highway might be the dumbest thing I’ve heard on here yet. Really? Even if that were true to any extent that would actually be noticeable whatsoever by the driver, someone would have to A/B the truck with and without the air dam on the same exact stretch of highway, in the same exact conditions, with the wind blowing the same exact speed from the same exact direction for that claim to even be remotely backed up. And that’s nearly if not completely impossible.

I guess we’re just not grounded to the ground enough now that we took them off..

Need RTT now to make sure the truck is properly grounded, all that weight will definitely help.

The scoop has a purpose. It is to sell the sport package.

I had the air damn off my 2020 Sport for several months then put it back on. I probably wouldn’t have if I spent any time off-road, but I don’t.
Call me crazy but I decided I liked the looks with it ON better. And besides, it keeps the bugs off all on my cosmolined under carriage parts.

I actually added one to my OR. It adds ~0.5 MPG and absolutely helps keep the truck glued to the road at HWY speeds. From an aesthetics standpoint, I have an MGM and you barely notice it.

rotated tires changed oil threw out the old air freshener.
"Somewhere" on the inter-web, is a video of an interview with some engineer type Toyo spokesperson,
There in is made the case for "drag", and that the best thing that could happen to a Taco would be to LOWER it about 4 inches (my number, not his)

The valance air dam is a concession, but an improvement none the less. And those little "fins" about the side rear view mirrors, and the bed gap and in front of the rear bumper corners. Yup! Those are there for good reason that would only be evident to a wind tunnel aficionado.

But there are many who would ignore such evidence. cry HOAX, and go about their merry way.

    Ignorance can be such bliss...

This is the value of this forum. I removed mine but still have it. I'm leaning toward putting it back on after seeing a few arguments for its existence. The off-road folks don't care so much about their MPG, but I'm in a 4x2 with my future off-road experiences being in the "lame dirt roads" category, to quote Down2Mob. Thank you for the feedback.
