What I would really like is to lose about 6 inches off the front "protuberance" length. The "Baja influence gone whako".

    I should 'a bought a ford....

It is pretty painful to watch Mike Sweers. He seems like the kind of guy who mutters to himself “I’m having fun right now. I can feel it.”

its for aero at highway speeds. pushing air up into radiator and engine compartment and pushing air around front tires. Below highway speeds does nothing

That's true. In a controlled test it probably gets another 0.1 mpg which is big for Toyota's EPA fleet requirements.

I recommend removing the stupid chin strap OP.

It's coming off. Just ordered some demon brackets and D rings from Amazon for while I'm down there. Also debating the TRD skid plate...mainly getting around the part where the wife asks my why I have to spend another $380 on the truck :spending:

Definitely helped on the highway and towing my last road trip. It was comfortably worth 1 mpg and reduced the buffeting for me.

I did this. I don't like to see the undercarriage with the air dam off. I put mine back on.

I will tell you I have done multiple experiements and there is a lot of extra wind noise that comes in that can give you the sensation of it being unstable, but it is mainly the gusts of wind that you hear exaggerated through the seals etc. You said you are not concerned about MPG, I notice no real drop with it off. I am one of the ones that puts it back on when I travel. I use my truck for work and do 1,500 mile drives for work and just having less wind noise makes it worth the few minutes to put it on for long trips.

Purchased a new 2016 while on vacation several years back, stopped at a car wash in Manitou Springs, removed and tossed in the trash at two days old.

2019 removed & trashed, 2021 removed and stored in attic. I prefer the removed look.

Also, if youre running at stock height that's what it was designed for. Once you lift that front end it negates the purpose of it FYI

It's gone. Took all of 10 min. Was kind of surprised at how easily those screws came out. Stored them in a Baggie with the air dam in the garage just in case I change my mind down the road. Demon brackets and D rings should be dropped off by Amazon later today.

EDIT: Just pulled the trigger on the TRD Pro skid plate from BAM Wholesale. Think it will complete the look of the front of the truck and add some extra protection.
