Here's all you have to do. Every time you think that the engine doesn't feel like a normal V6, know that somehow OVT fixes it. On top of that, every time you think about it not pulling below 3,500, OVT really fixes that with a few different flavors to suit you.

That is a very good way to put it. I was playing around at lunch today. Second and third are just fun now.

Yeah I will have to watch some of the tutorials as I am not the greatest with computer stuff. I will most likely purchase this down the road. Especially, if I plan to tow.

I also confirm this! Toyota can’t be serious with this transmission. Love the truck, but I really can’t wait to install the OVT!

As far as I know it does nada to cruise. You can adjust quite a bit with the Techstream. I don't have adaptive cruise so it is not something I can test, but you can adjust everything else, so I bet you can with Techstream.

Yes, with the most recent release. Previous releases only worked with non adaptive cruise

I'm in northern KY and I'm running ovtune on my 2016 Mt. Holler if you need help

Edit - I'm running super fob 2.0 b14 on my MT and love the difference OVTune provided me. Not only was I able to get rid of the lack of low end, but I was able to tweak my alternator to 14.7v to fully charge my deep cycles

I know this is reviving a bit of a dead thread, but would you say this is worth it as a first real mod on a manual? I've got about 400 miles on mine and trying to decide on what my first major mod will be. Currently deciding between sliders, OVtune pack, or lift. I'm leaning toward the tune as its the most practical for me since this is my daily driver and will be used primarily on pavement. Overall I enjoy driving the truck, but it has some quirks that I've noticed, like it seems to require almost perfect rev matching for smooth shifts, which I've heard the tune really cleans up. I'm not a huge fan of the fact that I have to hold the pedal to floor and it slowly accels, then it hits that 3k rpm area and just kind of takes off like a rocket. I was driving my F250 the other day and was amazed at how I had power pretty much immediately (I know I'll never have the same power in the taco as in my 460, but still) and it sounds like the tune helps redistribute power throughout the RPM range, which would be nice.

Would you consider this the best ~$800 you've spent on the truck, especially early on?

    this and that...
ive had a deleted and tuned 6.7 scorpion superduty that was an absolute beast in the streets. youre right. a stock taco will never match the power of a tuned diesel, BUT ovt helps the taco feel a little less...anemic, especially if youre manual trans. even without boost, if you only work on power mods and you keep the taco relatively light, itll make the truck extremely nimble. i love the way my sport drives now. in a few months im going the boosted route, but not because the truck needs it. and yes, ovt is worth the price, but you cant really take our words for it. its just something you have to feel for yourself.

yes, especially when combined with the ADM to put clear control in your hands. or feet, specifically.

For me, yes. If you can find someone nearby to flash your truck for less it is even better.
If you ask and tell where you are I bet you can get it done. I charge 225.
I really makes the truck feel like it should of from the factory.

Awesome, planning to do the ADM later this week.

Awesome. Finding someone to do is just paying them to use their time/dongle/flash kit and paying for the credit, correct? That's probably the way to do it since I'll probably never try adjusting my own tune since I'd have no idea what I was doing, haha.
