For those with a 2.5 Gen and an ARB bumper, does this look right or is something off?

Didn’t realize how big the ARB bumper is, it’s a tank!

@10thMTNgrunt, I used a AA battery to space the gap between the fender flare and bumper. If your gap is any wider than the battery is thick, your bumper may be sitting low.

The original trim pieces that came with the truck need to be reused with the ARB bumper. I had to ziptie mine from the inside to get them installed. See the first pic.

Also, the final step of the bumper install requires 4 holes to be drilled into the bullbar and 4 bolts to be inserted through the predrilled holes in the actual bumper and secure to the bullbar. The bullbar is what ARB calls the bracket that mounts to the truck which holds the actual ARB bumper. This final step allows you to fine tune the position of the bumper. It looks like this step was skiped and they just tightend the bumper without pushing/pulling the bumper into position, drilling the holes, and securing it. See second pic below where my bumper sits almost flush against the truck.

I'm also running an 05-11 ARB on my 2012 Tacoma because that model fits a little more snug than the 12-15 ARB bumper but regardless you shouldn't have that much of a gap on your install.

Keep in mind that the installation instructions are garbage which could be why your body shop missed some of the steps.

Good stuff! I contacted the shop and shared my concerns along with y’all’s advice, they’re going to work on the fitment. Thanks!

I would suggest only drilling the holes once you've decided exactly how you want the bumper to fit. If they drill the holes and the fit is not to your liking it might not be possible to drill another set of holes without some fabrication, this is really a one shot deal.

Im guessing its too late for that though, if its already mounted up now

OP I can get a measurement between my wing and flare later today if ya want. That gap does look a bit big to me, but it may just be an optical illusion due to missing the trim piece.

If they did actually drill the holes there may still be enough material left to drill another set once they reposition the bumper.

Your factory bumper is missing which is why yours has a big gap. Those other pics have the factory bumper in place or trimmed.

If you notice…the pics posted with no gap either left their OG bumper on or trimmed it to remain at the top. That gap looks shitty.

Some of you guys need to go back and read OPs first post. He’s adding the bumper fascia back in later.

Just under 7/8" gap towards the rear of the wing. Slightly less than that at the front of the flare

Sorry your feelings got hurt. I wasn’t being passive aggressive. I’m saying half the people saying there is too big a gap are misinterpreting the lack of OEM fascia to fill the void.

I don't have an good up close pics of mine, but I used a 1/4" drive 10mm deep well socket for the fender spacing. I left an extra 1.50" on the top of the stock bumper when I cut it & glad I did. also had to shim my bumper with washers to get centered to my liking (effin OCD)

Yeah so we just finished mounting mine. Probably just reiterating all the other posts but once you cut the bumper it’ll fit that gap a lot. It would be pretty difficult to put on the trimmed bumper after the ARB has been mounted. The ARB has 3 slotted holes on each side of the mounting bracket, so you can adjust it quite a bit. You can only really have a good sense on where it needs to be based on the trimmed bumper. The cut of the ARB bumper fits quite good around the curvature of the stock bumper. Hopefully they didn’t drill the final hole just yet. If not, get a stock bumper, trim it, and you should be just fine. Let me know if you need any pics of the mounting

I have that bumper on my 2014 AC. Installed it myself. 7/8" gap at the fender is definitely too large, should be about 4/8" (1/2"). Definitely needs to have some gap there as it prevents the body from rubbing on the bumper during aggressive suspension travel.

Good idea on the washers too, I’ll keep that in the back of my mind for when I install my bumper trim at some point.
