For those with a 2.5 Gen and an ARB bumper, does this look right or is something off?

Nothing was trimmed on my bumper. You can angle the ARB up during the install so that it reduces some of the gap.

    Update.
Should be getting the truck back soon, maybe tomorrow. Hopefully the bodyshop will make the necessary adjustments, if not I’ll do it when I have the time. If they’ve been made when I pick her up I’ll post some side by side picks of the corrections vs the original photos I posted. I’m not riding them too hard about this as it’s an insurance related job and they don’t like to do custom work to begin with (on insurance related jobs) they were very vocal about this but hooked me up anyways, and secondly I scored the ARB for free as the shop owner finagled it into the insurance supplement cost, so there was no out of pocket expense on my end. $1400 ARB vs a $100 OEM lookalike stockbumper. So I’m not gonna press em too hard. The shop owner did say that he would do his best though, to get it looking to my liking.
Thanks again for all the post contributions guys!

Hey guys, finally got my truck back from the body shop. They didn’t make any adjustments but to be fair, it’s not that bad, at least imo, the original photo angle wasn’t too flattering. I’ll readjust to my liking when I pick up a cheap $100 bumper and fill the gap with the trimmed piece. In the mean time I zip tied the under light trim pieces, that helps a bit with the look. I scored a Pro grill and Pro lights out of the insurance deal as well, so all in all, not a bad spot to be in.

I could be wrong, but it looks like you purchased one of the $100.00 or so unpainted bumpers and fixed the unpainted trim piece to your your truck. I will be doing the same, still undecided on whether or not to paint yet. When you have the time, could you please send me a front view photo so I can see what the unpainted trim piece looks like when attached. It looks like we have the same color truck, and black and red compliment each other very well, so it’s cool that the trim piece matches the ARB, and I’m sure that it blends in beautifully. Just curious to how it looks.
    Thank you!

Believe it or not that is the factory bumper. My paint started peeling badly a few months after I bought the truck. I was pretty pissed at the time, so decided F* it Ill take the whole thing off and get an ARB. Five years later here we are

I think it blends very well IMO. Its not a gap, but its black so it doesn't stand out. Dont have many great up close pics of the front but heres a few. Can see where big sheets of paint peeled off under the passenger fog light

Dude, I’m having the same issues with my paint. I love Toyota but their paint work is pathetic! The black bumper looks good with the ARB and blends in very well, thank you!

No kidding.. I couldn't find many folks with the same issue back in 2017 when it started happening to me. At least not for the 3R3 color code

If its as bas as mine was, when the time comes take a blow gun to the edges of the paint. The whole thing will delaminate in big sheets :D

It’s weird, I see 1998 Tacomas with original paint that are better looking than mine. I think there is a lack in quality control in the mixing stages of paint and/clear coat and it’s hit or miss. Certain years just get it real bad, to include as recent as 2021 possibly even 22.
I’m getting a complete high end paint job in the near future. Ceramic coating that fucker as soon as the paint cures and driving my 13 till the wheels fall off.

So how much did you cut off the original bumper to fill the gap? I believe their instructions say 100mm.

This is why the O.Ps gap looks bad ^ he has NO trim piece.
