The re sale is silly on the used ones, considering it could have a rotting frame and all. For me, serious offroading in a newer vehicle is not financially possible, and dirt bikes are far more fun. I will take a newer, lower kilometer tundra for less $$ than taco and spend it on gas.
I have owned 2 2nd gens, a 3rd gen SC 4runner and now a gen1 tundra. The taco is good but not that good....

Right why buy a vehicle built to off road and use it as a street queen.

when it comes to gas yes.

If it diesel forced induction is the way to go even if turbos shit the bed. Which to be fair if its designed properly it shouldn't really.
Look at the 79 series land crusiers. No turbo issues.
And if you keep it in a lower boost they last a good amount of KM

Pro Tundra was the same price as my Pro Taco.

It was way bigger with a v8 with way less technology (no crawl control etc). I thought about it, glad I held out for the Taco

from what I've heard from a few different dealers, they don't sell tundras as well as they sell tacomas.
Most seem to go for any of the other 3 for a fullsized since they're usually cheaper than the tundra, and have higher towing. I've been in them as two of the project managers at my company have them and I've used them when needing to pick up material while they're in meetings etc.

Honestly nothing that special. Nice yes, but at the cost nothing all that great.
Even on the used market they don't seem to move as fast as tacomas do, nor do they hold as high a value.

If you buy a rubicon, raptor, anything with Pro in the name, you are a fanboy. Which is fine, it just means you really like the vehicle for what it is and don't mind paying more to have the nicest one.

    Practicality is another thing.

Would I love to have a Pro anything, yes.

Is my dad going to buy it for me, no.

Tundra sales are around 118k a year. Gm and ford are 730k per year. Tacoma is in the 170's a year

    Mods coming soon...
I tend to agree that the cost is high but in reality to buy a full size with the same trim levels your are going to pay more. I traded my 04F350 CC diesel in on my Taco based on reliability ratings. With the number of issues being reported I am contemplating trading my Taco on another full size but in order to get the trim level & options I want I'm looking at a 2-3 year old truck or paying 10-20k more.

Just an observation from being on this site for a while now... Anyone else find it funny how many previous gen Taco boys troll this board just waiting for the chance to bash on the 3G? Don't they have a rusted frame to replace or something?
