    ...^^^... Good comparison with a Baja ... had both a Brat and a Ridgeline and a Ridgeline is like an oversized Brat/Baja with more comfort.

    Both the Brat/Baja and Ridgeline were very dependable too.

    Didn't read the rest of the thread, but fullsize trucks don't fit between the trees in TN when trying to get to the good camping/wheeling/ fishing spots...

    I live in a high tech area with one of the highest concentration of PhDs in the country. The area is crawling with full sized trucks all shiny with no scratches and empty beds. You would be shocked at the number of full sized pickup trucks in the Duke University faculty parking lot, although we also have our share of Tacomas.

    Deprecation doesn't really matter if;
    a) You keep and enjoy the truck long term, and;
    b) You have ample cash to afford such a luxury.

    So- I really don't care, because I have B... and I intend on A...

    Out of all the vehicles I've owned in my life, new and used, I've only ever sold one other vehicle faster than I did my third gen. That was a Ford F-250 (used) with an incurable death wobble.

    The third gen was underwhelming to say the least. Not exactly 'built to high qs' as Toyota would like to lead everyone to believe... We have one other Toyota in our stable- Japanese built. Zero issues.

    Toyota USA- "The vibrating hood is a 'normal characteristic of the vehicle'.. Give me a f*cking break. Some of this is just comical.

    Afford the luxury of not worrying about depreciation, Einstein.

    Oh and apparently you have not been in a Silverado LTZ.. There are some photos a page or two back. Makes the Toyota look, umm, well you can see for yourself...

    Typical boxed work looking truck on the way to digging ditches.

    A truck is not my luxury car, AMG is, Einstein.

    Silverado is more of a luxury than the underpowered, slightly uncomfortable Tacoma- relatively speaking...

    See what I did there? Keep looking.. Einstein.

    well I think the chevy is nice and is luxury. I think lots of trucks are in full size. I just don't get all this full size and price and better bs to any brand. I sold my 16 Tacoma sport 4x4 sport dbl cab with tech due to seat comfort and still regret it. I liked the truck a lot otherwise. I had a tundra crew 4x4 I traded in for it that was luxury in my opinion and solid and I liked it lots more then all other full size but didn't need and I wanted smaller to get around in city and parking and garage parking it fits and tundra was tough as all full size would to fit. I also like the fun of the drive in smaller in handling around town. Tundra was much nicer ride and room for only about 6k more equally equipped. MPG was 20 average for me in Tacoma and 15 in tundra but again a Cadillac. I now got a chevy diesel Colorado z71 and have now had it 9 months and 25k miles. been great and no issues. I think the Tacoma handles better and better interior and more solid in my opinion than the Tacoma but Colorado diesel engine and power train much smoother. Seat s are harder but much better seat adjustments and how you sit in it is better than Tacoma. I get 28 to 30 mpg in it. I think Tacoma looks better though. I didn't have issues with mine but know many do and maybe I would have on tranny. I don't need more room because just wife and I so that isn't needed. Also it aint same price equally equipped. at least 5k difference. Each his own but I want another Tacoma and loved the off road it gave me and loved the look and the interior. I think all are good and each has there likes and uses.

    I'll just say this- there is a reason the pundits like Car & Driver, Edmunds, et al. have given the Tacoma less than stellar reviews. In hindsight I agree with them on almost all counts. For the money paid- there are better trucks out there.

    I've had my Chevy for 2 weeks and 1,000 miles- I have no shifting issues, flaring issues, no f*cking vibrating hood, more power, better payload, comfortable towing ratings, more bells and whistles AND I'm getting as good a mileage as I did in the Toyota 'mid size'.

    And I paid about $5,000 more for the Chevy than the TRD-OR.

    We were comparing F-350s and those types of trucks.

    Nothing wrong with fullsize even in your area. More room for family. I see no difference in a SUV and a fullsize truck. The fullsize game has really stepped up. With the expectation of the tundra, got to get MUCH better mpgs to catch up.

    GM dodge ford fullsizes have really been made the case to buy fullsize over mid.
