Go watch all these videos, and tell me again that ford has shitty quality.
they own in every one of these tests.

I love my toyota, but if buying a new truck and I wanted something bigger than my 1st gen, I'd probably buy the F150

is it a matter of time will tell? what makes you think ford will fail? I bet you didn't think toyota was gona fail, but BAM! haha we'll see, but IMO Ford stepped up and Toyota stepped back, unfortunately.

Ive owned several fords, as I would describe myself as a ford guy. I never had a problem with a truck Ive owned, had a mustang for about 4 months got in january of 02 and sold for a bronco II in april 02, it just wasnt for me and the outdoor things I do. My dad ran 2 tauras into the ground with one going 230000 and the other 180000. I think they are headed up the ladder and like someone said if they had a comparable truck to the Tacoma I would of went that way. I did hear that they are now going to redo the ranger for 2012, searched on google and did come up with some info and it looks as if they will have a crew cab, very interesting. I ve also heard the Newest tacoma will debut at the chicago auto show. If I get some pics i will post cause that will be exciting in its own rt

My first car was a 66 Mustang convertible with a 289 , 53,000 miles in 1972. During the past 38 years I have owned fords, cryslers, dodges, pontiacs, hondas, mazdas, jeeps, eagles and toyotas. Most of these vehicles were purchased new. The ones I have had the least amount of problems with were the fords, hondas and the toyotas. The cryslers and dodges had great motors and little else, the pontiacs, all three of them had lots of little problems, the mazda was finicky but that could have been the modding, the honda was indestructable, literally, and the jeep....is of course a jeep. Regardless, I have always come back to ford and toyota. After 4 mustangs, one of them a Saleen, a full size bronco, a cougar, 2 escorts, a F150 and an edge I have a little ford experience and would not hesitate to buy another. Toyotas so far have just been a 4runner sport v-8 and the tacoma. But the 4runner was built in Japan at the lexus factory....does that say anything? But that 4runner sold me on toyotas for life. That was one heck of a vehicle. And I certainly won't give up on toyota for a gas pedal anymore than I would give up on ford for picking the wrong tire for their suv's some years ago that caused them to roll when the tire blew. Vehicles contain thousands of parts and many are contracted out. Anyway, you see where I'm headed.

Didn't say exactly what the problem was. Maybe they got it cheap because it is cheap. Unfortunately newer vehicles with lots of options, electronics, etc., just open the door to lots of other issues. Personally, I think this is Toyota's issue as well, but that's a different forum.
I loved my Ford F150 supercrew and only, only, sold it for something more economical, hence the 2010 Tacoma. At this stage I have no regrets and hope it stays that way.
Will I return to Ford. Absolutely. They are making the adjustments necessary to compete with the newer automakers. If they can keep the prices down they are and will continue to be number one until some other brand outshines them again. It will happen. Just my thoughts and of course personal opinion. Toyota all weather floor mats. Mag light that clunks around in the jack compartment. Dog hair. Dog drool on the windows.
I'll take a ford truck over a GM, or dodge any day. My old 99" F150 was a good truck. Till it started knocking.. But I attribute that to the escort I ran over. literally.

When I decide I want/need a full size truck it'll be the F150 or Tundra. Ford gained much respect from me when they didn't touch the bailout funds.

Had a 92 Ranger and at 60,000 miles had to change the transmission. Bought a 2004 Ranger and at 55,000 miles started to have transmission problems. Bought a 2009 Tacoma - will see how that does.
