I'm just saying that just because it says Toyota, it is not necessarily the best thing out there. Others make some fine vehicles these days. If they came out with a midsize version of the Raptor, I would probably consider it. My Ranger treated me well and was far more comfortable and solid feeling than my Tacoma.

It kinda isn't man...I mean okay for a truck off the lot maybe but like we were talking about earlier. Our trucks out the door is 30k tops. I've seen Raptors at the car lots here in Scottsdale pushing 50k...Imagine what our trucks could be with 15k worth of Upgrades

For one you would not have a factory warranty anymore.

The 7.3 powerstrokes are beasts! I've never heard a single owner complain about those things. When I was shopping for a tow vehicle I specifically went for a later model 6.0 and have been lucky thus far. :)

besides the truck. obviously no one is going to make u change their mind.

what about ford in general even putting forth the effort to produce something with long fucking travel out of the lot. thats so bad ass dude.

like seriously think about it. toyota plays it conservative and it has done them well, they make great products and they sell.

but ford has balls producing the raptor. even if we all thought it was shitty. we have to give them the respect for making something like that out of the factory.

Yea, Toyota isn't the greatest ever. Some vehicles I like, some I don't. Some may not want to admit it but Ford is making some very good vehicles these days. Myself I'm not brand loyal to any brand. I'll buy what I feel is the best vehicle for my money, regardless of what company makes it and what country it's from. My previous two vehicles had been GM, when I wanted a midsize truck, it was really a no brainer that the Tacoma was the best option for my money.

    Both angles here are right.

.Stock vs. stock it's no comparison.

.Performance dollar-for-dollar is an interesting and valid comparison, but given that you're using the $50k version as a comparison we're looking at some engine mods that likely will compromise the durability of the Tacoma drivetrain to get it to compete in the power department.

As far as suspension upgrades, it's definitely pricey and will involve fabrication. Parts alone add up quick. Hell, my rear shocks retail for $1800 each. $15,000 really does not go that far where desert performance is concerned. You'll still have to reinforce your alignment cam tabs, lower control arm mounts, and engine mounts just to make things stay put during a single day of playing in the desert.

I didn't bring enough popcorn for this thread.
