While searching for some stronger connecting rods for my boosted 2GR-FKS engine build, a great deal on some VERY nice rods popped up on the radar. A set was ordered, received, inspected... approved! IMO, perfect. Details....

My best sleuthing points to these being manufactured by Arrow Precision in the U.K. for Swindon Engines (now Swindon Powertrain). Swindon was employed by Lotus Cars Limited to build the engines that were installed in the Lotus Evora 400 cars. Swindon received new stock Toyota 2GR-FE engines and replaced various bits in order for them to reliably put out over 400hp (some say these made 420ish). These engines are supercharged and the blower pushes 9.7 psi.

These rods are made from the U.K. equivalent of 4340. H beam, forged, shot peened, ARP 2000 bolts, beryllium copper wrist pin bush w/ oil feed hole and groove. Balanced end to end within 1 gram, rated for 8500 rpm. Weight is listed at 596 grams. Stock FE rods are 604, FKS rod ???. While stock FKS rods are forged and beefier than the FE rods, I'm not game for finding their limit. These should be significantly stronger and more fatigue resistant while being close to the weight of the stock rods.

$840 + the ride over the Atlantic for the first set. Retail was over $1600. I purchased all the remaining sets they have and will probably sell them for even less than the first.

This might be the most powerful minivan motor mankind has ever seen.

There are 84 of these rods in my possession... and I'm willing to spread this deal around to further the cause. They fit the 2GR-FKS, and further research indicates they should also fit the 2TR-FE. DM me and we'll talk.

Yes, if they all go for 2GR-FKS engines. 2TR engines will increase that number, of course.

It's not very often that we can lay our hands on top of the heap parts for a tad more than the 3rd world copies.

Agreed, and I thought the price point might be a cool splurge. But the install costs are not insignificant. It’s a bit beyond my garage capabilities for a daily driver.

Since I only have 110k on my 2TR, do I really need these?

You're welcome! In all fairness, no one is retiring off of these... lol! I didn't expect to own the remainder of their stock when I first purchased, but they are done with their V6 program, and took the offer. You won't see em' cheaper... mods please boot this over to the for sale section if it is no longer appropriate.

These are only for built boosted engines. Absolutely zero reason to run these on most tuned engines, never mind stock.
