All, we ended up purchasing a home in Rotonda West back in July, and truly love it here.

I've since bought a Tundra (2005 v8) that has the timing belt in lieu of chain. Although it has only 109k miles I want to have the timing belt, water pump, etc. service done, and called both Venice Toyota & Toyota (Gettel I think?) down in Punta Gorda; interestingly labor alone was approx. $1k.

Are there any good, reputable, local shops y'all would recommend to have this service done vs taking it to Toyota?

    Congratulations on your home.
They all want to charge that ridiculous hourly rate. See if you can find a mechanic who does side jobs. I found one guy one time on Craigslist. I would hate to pay that much for that.
Good luck, and keep us posted.

Is anyone up to a trail ride this weekend folks? All I have heard about is lazy springs. I’ve never been there. But I am up to go any where in the area to grease up that transfer case and have some fun.

Hey, did you end up going to Lazy Springs? If so, how was it? I need to get my truck out there too. The only time my transfer case gets a workout is at the job site,

Hey guys I was out at lazy springs last weekend to try out my new 5100's and wheelers aal. It's really dry out there not much mud if that's what you are looking for. Other wise it is fun to do their trails and other new obstacles. Maybe we can get a group to go out there sometime. Wanted to try other obstacle but didn't have another tacoma to pull me out just in case

Yes, I went in early March . It was pretty dry and a couple of mudholes. I was the only truck there that day. So, I didn't venture much. Just played in the sand for a bit and tried a small mudhole.

Looks like a good time. Something tells me it wouldn't look that dry now. I work on a construction site everyday, we have been underwater a few times with all this rain.

I hear you. I went to north Cape over the weekend and found couple good empty lots to get my transfer case lubed up a bit. Lazy springs must be muddy as hell now.

I like the ride. A little stiffer than stock. I have 5100 set at 2.5 with 1/4 inch spacer on driver's side to fix taco lean. And wheelers 2 inch aal in the rear. Wanted a little rake for when loading the bed
