Apple... Last forever? Not exactly - they do exclude hardware from OS updates. Fall behind updates? Get ready to pay for the updates to get caught up IF your hardware will support it.

Windows... most bang for your buck if you stay way from the Wal-Mart crap that they sell for $300. Like anything you get what you pay for. I am posting this from my $600 laptop that will last me for the next 3-5 years.

But you do not have to take my opinion on it; it isn't like I do IT work or have an IT degree.

    Nope.

I would pass on an HP if you can. I would go with a Lenovo first. But an i5 with 4Gb RAM is a solid PC. Just make sure to get rid of Norton/McAfee as fast as possible.

They suck. They run such a heavy "security" software that they bog down any processor. Get a lighter running AV like Malwarebytes (the paid version) and you will be good to go without near the hit on the processor/RAM.

Just look at the build thread
Microsoft hasn't done anything right since XP. I'm glad I got out of the tech industry. I would have committed suicide by now. Fuck Microsoft. And Dell. And HP most of the time.

Former; I left active duty in '06. No; I did not do computer work when I was in.

Nothing except continue to dominate the commercial AMD private market while Apple became a status icon. Do Apples work - yes. Unless you are doing serious video/picture/audio editing you are wasting your money.

Bad battery not charging? Still under warranty?

How old is your MacBook? I was working with a customer last year that was three major versions behind and we had to buy the most recent and update from a CD.

Any of you guys know a place in FW to get a good interior shampooing? Got cut off at lunch and dumped soda everywhere. It's already soaked into the fabric. I don't mind paying a good amount of money, as long as it's a good job.

Id be wary about some places, my friend got deer blood in the back of his suburban and got it shampooed. Well it was really cold like it is now and the carpet did not dry. He had to get all new carpet and padding underneath.

This guy is awesome. His name is Kody Keuter and he is very meticulous. I had my Honda s2000 detailed by him and it was immaculate when he was done. All the work I've seen from him is top notch. Tell him Nick with the s2000 sent you.

I bought a Dell laptop in 2006, and still works. Bought a new one, because the '06 version weighs about 20 pounds. I bought my current one in 2011.

Regarding to our conversation a while ago about the 737 that lives at Addison, it was back today.

Hey all, I just moved to the White Settlement area and thought I'd say hello. I'm sure some of you will see me wandering around trying to figure out where everything is.
