Hey tacoheads! As you've probably found out by now, Fortin's Flashlink Manager isn't compatible with Mac OS X. I'll Show you how I used the software with a Virtual Machine...

I'm running OSX El Capitan. I cannot confirm if VirtualBox is compatible with Sierra yet.

If you aren't familiar with a virtual machine, its basically an app that runs an entire operating system inside itself. The machine allocates a set portion of your disk and RAM to reserve for the operating system you chose. You can run almost any operating system this way.

    1. Download VirtualBox here.
    2. Download the .ova operating system file from Microsoft here. I used the Win7 IE9 version.
    3. Create the VirtualMachine using the downloaded .ova file from step 2.
    4. Install the VirtualBox Extension pack from the same VirtualBox download page. This will enable USB 2.0 support for the VM. Make sure you change your USB Controller to USB 2 in the VM settings.
    6. Download the Flashlink Manager from the Virtual Machine. Link here.
    7. Connect the Evo to the flashlink2 and then follow the directions in the manager software to install the USB driver for the flashlink. You'll need to install in manually as Windows 7 will not find it.
    8. Flash and done!

I'm pretty familiar with Virtual Machines since I am a web developer, and a Mac guy. Please reply to this thread with any questions or contributions.

This is nice! I didn't realize Microsoft had free images available.

They are testing images that are good for I think 30 days. Primarily purposed for developing web apps for IE. after the 30 days are up I believe you have to create a new VM. So save a fresh copy of the .ova file if you plan on using it indefinitely.

I have done all of the downloads, and started the VM but when it started it brought up an error message that the cmputer was unable to start up and is now checking for repairs. Is that supposed to happen?
