You can own a Gen3 without that crap, it just has to be a 16 or 17.

I diislike the adaptive cruise. Sometimes it sees a car in another lane and slows me way down, even though there is nothing in my path. It really struggles in anything but perfect straight aways.

I absolutely hate adaptive cruise control. In my wife's car, when I'm driving I turn it off if I want to use CC.

i have a honda accord no issues with the collision avoidance. I also have a honda pilot that does this.

The avoidance system is way tooo sensitive and has slammed the brakes on me with nothing in front.

you would think between manufacturers it would be the same but driving the pilot is sooooo annoying sometimes.

    so i believe you op.

Ahh. Okay, I stand corrected then!

I've used it before on various vehicles before actually. Im just not a fan of all this new tech. It's way too invasive and prefer my own movements over that of sensors and computers.

It's a godsend on long straight highways like the 5 or 99 in CA. I find it works pretty well in the curvy areas like Cajon or Grapevine.

Not a perfect system but wayyyyyy better than having to constantly adjust for other drivers IMO

Had my truck apply the brakes for me twice. Once on the freeway when some jackass decided to merge on my lane and slam his brakes. The other time was leaving my work parking lot. Rushing to get the hell out and an Amazon delivery van speeds right in. Actually helped me that time because i would have hit the Amazon van . All other times i get the beep and "brake" alert. If my truck was doing it randomly I would take it in and insist they fix my shit.

I've had my Taco since early August 2018 and have experienced 4 or 5 phantom BRAKE warnings and 2 phantom FCA's (where the truck automatically brakes itself). Thankfully in both of those instances there was no one behind me. I've checked for recalls and there aren't any. Guess I'll have to learn to deal with it.

Had it happen to me once while driving in the city. Was screwing around with my ac controls or something, then i looked up and the car in front of me slammed on the brakes. My truck slammed on the brakes like 1 milisecond before i could. It worked great, i mean i wouldve avoided the accident but that shit works fine on my truck, thankfully.

I get those red alerts with BRAKE in the screen occasionally, but thats because im close to cars sometimes.

I had the recall done for the milimiter sensor.

Sometimes I get the brake warning, but I'm like "Taco, you don't get me! This is how I drive, I live life on the edge! I drink Mt. Dew Code Red!! If I'm not up this guys ass, how is he suppose to know to get out of the passing lane? Yolo Yota".

I've had this happen to me many times too both before and after I lifted my DCSB OR. After I lifted my truck, it went up 2" BUT my sensor went down with the addition of the TRD Pro Grill. So, it's still in the ball park as far as original height (probably very close to original height.

I think of all the safety sensors as a secondary safety features --not something to rely on, but something that might help you out if you fail to do your job driving the vehicle in question. IMHO the technology just isn't fully developed and perfected. It's more like a weather forecast; it gives you a pretty good idea of what might happen, but it's not dead on.

I'm wondering, are there any third party shops that would be able to check calibration, re-calibrate if needed, or turn off the TSS using Techstream if necessary without have to deal with the dealership?

Please post your dashcam video. If it’s legit going off for no reason, take it to another dealer and don’t leave till they’ve fixed it.
