If anyone has a parted out vehicle with a rust free front end, I am in need of both forward upper suspension mount brackets welded to the frame. Mine are rusted and the through-bolt holes will probably break when I change my UCAs. Part numbers: 51501-35080 and 51502-35080. See red circles in diagram. I'll attach an image of mine when I get a chance.

I tried posting this as a WTB in the marketplace forum, but my account is less than 30 days old and it wouldn't let me. If this post is breaking rules, let me know and I'll delete it, I'm just looking to get this project moving and needed to put this out.

Lakeland Toyota and toyotapartsdeal lists them for over $400 apiece, which seems a bit stiff. Of course I imagine its not a highly demanded item, but still. I'll probably have to go that route if I can't find a salvage piece.

    Lets see some pictures!!

Your talking about the mount where the Top of the Coil Over rides??

3 holes the complete Assembly bolts to and the Cage nut holds everything together?

They are very simple to have made I have made a few sets over the last 20 years.

It is much easier for me to make new or buy new then mess around cleaning up used pieces.

Did you do lots of surf fishing or drive through tidal marshes ?? If these are rusted so bad The rest of the frame must be just as bad?

Look for part outs from the South West Blown Engines rear end hits roll overs!!

Yeah the whole bracket housing welded to the frame where top of coil over bolts to. See images. I thought about having one fabbed if needed. I’m sure my welder brother could do it if needed. Can you show me an example of one you did?

I just bought this truck and have a full project ahead of me. Front frame is generally ok but I am about to replace the entire rear frame. FedEx is delivering some replacement rails from a TW member from out southwest this weekend. But I figure I’ll need these brackets when I go to replace my front suspension.

First I would clean off all that loose rust off and see what you really have.

See if there is anything to work with.

What is the rest of the frame like ?? This could be a major adventure.

In any case it all needs to come apart if it breaks and you need new pieces to do the job correct The engine needs to be removed .

At that time a front frame splice might be the easier route .

Get your friend to give you ideas as they are up close and in person.

I never got in the habit of pictures to me You still send them off to be developed and get pictures of your thumb.

I should do that. I thought those UCA mounting bolts was a long through-bolt. Is it not? It looked fused to the bracket with rust so I was guessing it would break the side of the bracket or snap off upon removal. Maybe if it does and the rest of the bracket is solid enough, I could have a patch plate welded on the side and re-bore a hole. If it's a welded on mounting stud and not a through bolt, that would make it a bit more challenging.

I am banking on my big bro being able to weld the seams of a new bracket (if necessary) to the frame without removing the engine. It has seams on the outboard side of the rail, and the top, with a bit overhang on the inboard side according to the diagram. If I have to remove the engine, then gee am I in for a fun time. Hopefully it doesn't come to that and it doesn't turn out as bad as I'm expecting now.

Once I get all I need and start this project rolling I might make a build thread or something. I have a plan for the rusty rear frame already, just waiting on a few parts in the mail.

Naw, it lived in NC in the past, but I recently bought it and it lives down where it doesn't snow and we generally don't have vehicle rust problems. It might have sat stuck in mud for a while somewhere though. Anti-rust maintenance shouldn't be too much of a problem for me once i get it cleaned up and the rot fixed.

Yeah, you're going to be chasing your tail looking for rust to fix. Might be worth looking for either a part out or a frame (from a non rust-belt state).

I got all new(and used rust-free) metal for the rear half of the frame on the way. I'm hoping someone might have a parts vehicle here and say, "Yo I got what you need, show me some money." And I'll be like, "Yo, take my money." Front suspension is the last major bit to do once i get the back end done.

Like I said if you want the job done correct the engine needs to be removed.

Then a if a poor job works by all means go for it.

You should just try to clean the rust off of that stuff to see were your at, surface rust mixed with loose and pealing paint often looks worse than it really is. The nut on the uca bolt is most likely seized, but the bolt itself is well sealed and may not be seize in the tube in the frame. Just pull the wheel off and start wire wheeling things, you may find you have more meat there then it seems at first glance.

Oh I see what you mean now, I was looking at the wrong diagram. Now I see what I feared probably won’t be so bad. I was looking at that rusted tube thinking it was a solid bolt seized with rust. Thanks for setting me straight.
