I think he is saying that you two should try to work out a deal. You might be able to get Toyota to buy the truck back for twice what you paid for it. Tell the original owner that you would split the profits with him if he agrees to void the sale.

ahh...I get it. I doubt the seller would, but im going to get the frame inspection done first. trouble with that is, the title is already in my name, so the seller has nothing to do with it anymore. I can just hope the frame fails and I get out of the truck what I put in it...thats all Im expecting and all I need to feel satisfied with the situation.

dropped the truck off a few hours ago... the servie guy said that it doesnt matter if every inch of my frame is like new...if there is one rust hole bigger than a dime, the truck will be condemned... well, Ill find out if he was right...there is a hole, and the rest of the frame looks good... but really no telling what the inside of the frame looks like, and they say it happens from the inside out.

I had a 96' which got frame rot and there is a length of ownership clause in their buy back program. The dealership will try to get around this for you, since they want you to get over 8 Grand to spend at their place on a new truck but Toyota has been clamping down on handing these out since a lot of junkyards and prospective buyers have been trying to pull a fast one. Goodluck to you though you have a chance at making a great $4500 investment turn into $8500 very quickly.

well, ill keep the truck for 6 months then, and then turn it in.. I dont mind... I was never trying to scam toyota...I thought the truck had passed the inspection...thats a main reason I bought it. so If toyota want to treat me like a scammer because of this... well... Ill win in the end by waiting out their ownership clause. shit, Ill fax them a copy of the craigslist ad I found the truck through if need be...it clearly says the truck passed the inspection.

truck has been inspected... they failed it due to one hole on the drivers side in the rear of the frame by the gas tank. The service advisor that handles all the buy back cases, basically said he sees no reason why toyota wouldn't buy my truck back. but... we'll see. He was aware that I've owned the truck for only a week, but he said others have had similar situations that went through fine. I feel like I can prove I didnt buy the truck just to get a buyback... cause thats not what I was trying to do. I was trying to buy one of the most indestructable truck on earth...
