Found a killer deal on a truck! It sounds fishy though.

Go to toyotas site and look for the full explanation. off the top of my head, the TRDOR has better tires/rims/shocks, (this one already has better rims), different skid plates, better seats, compass/temp thing, thats all i can think of right now. Its nothing you couldnt add later on if you wanted to. If the truck has what you want, get it! who cares about the fluff if its going to be a grocery getter like mine. If its not, you can add the extras later.

Suggest that you write down what questions you have after looking it over and before making an offer tell the dealer you want to talk to the last previous owner...who should be able to give you some straight feedback re your questions. If the dealer won't do that (what's he hiding?), or the owner said he had problems, time to move on.

A Toyota manager told me that Tacoma's sell for more $$$ more during the winter than during the summer. It's not summer yet but it's coming and that has the same effect.

Makes sense...in the summer there is no need for a 4x4, and the gas is higher...

    Im getting there......
This is the sr5 package with just convenience electronics and alloy wheels. Unlike your sport it has a standard rear differential (no limited slip) and none of the sport styling obviously. Furthermore the seats are different and you have the upgraded bilstein suspension on your sport. The new truck you were looking at has just toyota standard suspension.
With a true off road package you will get upgraded suspension (like your tuck) an electronic locking differential and whole bunch of electronic gadgets like atrac a downhill assist etc. that improve offraod traction. It will look just like the new truck you were looking at bud will have buttons on the left side of the steering wheels where that truck had blanks and will also have trd bedside decals like your sport. Also I believe the trd packages have more standard features than the sr5 like the backup camera and side airbags etc.

That is why you got such a good deal my trd off road cost $20000 when it was two years old and had 60k miles. In fact if you were to have tried to trade your truck in for that one they would have cost about the same because your current truck is technically "nicer"/"higher end"

None yet, but they are coming!
Sounds like a good deal! I just bought a 2011 trd 4x4 dbl cab with 29k miles on it for $24,900. I bought the truck from a nissan dealership and they (for some reason) couldnt get rid of it until I came along. I have now put 6k miles on it and havent had any problems except for the squeaky leaf springs. Everyone I talk to say that I practically stole it from them!

It would be a good truck. That's basically the setup I have and I haven't found anything that makes me regret not getting a Sport, and very little that makes me wish I had an OR.

Sports are basically a cosmetic package (color matched grill and bumper with 17" wheels and hood scoop, different seats) and upgraded suspension. OR has the stuff focotacoma mentioned.

I know. I still might think about it. Just depends how much I would think I would miss some of the features. I mean, I don't go off road too much, but when I do, it wouldn't hurt to have all the features. Plus wayyyyyyy down the road, I plan to lift and stuff so I could have better suspension then.

Everyone's needs are different. I don't offroad, but I do live in MO an hunt. If I'm stuck, its going to be crossing a creek or slipping off the road into a ditch in the snow. Even if I thought I needed more capability, I'd rather put $1500 in a bumper and winch than into the OR package.

As long as it has 4WD and cruise control, it's good to me

No, but I'm going to probably go look at it Tuesday. And I will make my decision then.

You need to speed this up. That wouldn't last 15 min around here. You need to be there when they open in the morning. :D

The only reason I'm taking it slow is because it's pretty much the base version of the off road with not all of the features of the full package. Still might fit my needs, but I might want all of the features. I'll just need to take a good look at it first.

We have a camp with off road trails. Not bad ones. 4WD is for sure needed for some, but they aren't horrible. As long as it will get through those and still has some features I would like, it sounds like a buy to me.

What does your setup not come with? Interior features. Back up cam, temp/compass, etc?

OK, so 4x4 yes, but TRD Offroad, no.

Better make sure it's actually a V6, too.

EDIT at least it has the V6 badges.
