I dont know how long its been here, but I thought I was gonna DIE when I found it. Ive had the truck about 3 months, the dealers gonna look at it tomorrow. aaaaaahhhhhggggg!!!

update; the service writer was on top of this from the start, when I got home I got a call and he had a new seat cover, probably a take off (they do a lot of leather upgrades) but thats ok by me I just want it fixed and I know they will do a good job.

Since the used seat skin market is shallow and the dealer cost is like $600 or something ridiculous, my fix is to keep an eye peeled for a nice and clean skin to come up for sale second hand, or to sit on it until it gets worse and then replace it with OEM or upgrade.

Mine isn't a warranty item like OPs, which is why his is easy.

Maybe I should check my seams for a crappy stitch and see if I can get for free?

There's been 3 skins sold on TW since I punctured mine and all have been in great shape, but also all have been for TRD seats which I don't have. :(

    upgrade to TRD seats? :notsure:

OP, that sucks.. my driver's seat is all beat up from me getting in an out but no rips. That should be covered under warranty though and shouldn't be much of a hassle I wouldn't expect.

Never seen nor sat in a TRD seat. Is it just bolstered?

Don't the seats from a Lexus GX series bolt right in? Leather, heated, cooled, power...

Yes, the lower cushion, and mid cushions are bolstered more. The angle of the seat & back portions feel the same, there's just more of a hugging sensation when you corner and such.

Yea they wrap around a tiny bit more on the sides I think but I haven't actually sat in the non-TRD ones, just seen them lol There's not a huge visible difference imo

I definitely prefer the TRD seats in my personal Tacoma over the regular seats in my work Tacoma. Of course, I prefer everything about my 2008 over the new one.
