Ok, I guess it time to come clean. We at Toyota decided with all the third gen controversy , it's time to get back to our roots. So they put me in charge of building a new assembly plant in the tacos environment . To be honest, the plan, at best, was severely underfunded. Which of course, caused me to cut corners , at every turn. Since my ad in the local paper for five dollars an hour wasn't bringing in the quality of wrenches I'd hoped, I took a trip down south, where I ran into a big group of happy but funny talking people , where there was supposed to be a wall. My luck was starting to change, as these people were delighted to work for five bucks an hour. And , they had a big tent we could use as a factory, as the funds for that, were a little slow arriving from Japan. I could see things starting to turn around for me. Now with a small budget and a new labor force, I thought it would be best if we tore down and reassembled a used taco first, since things can get scratched and dented in the training process. Well we had that taco torn down and half way back together by lunch time, when I headed to Taco Bell to pick up lunch for the gang since they were trying really hard.
The road to the plant site, we share with a local farmer. Unbeknownst to me, the farmer had hired the Ultimate Stand Irrigation company to do a little work on his water system.
Now, from this point on, I can only guess what happened. But I'm pretty sure that when the new work force, along with the language barriers , saw US Irrigation on the side of their truck , they mistook it for US Immigration , and absconded with the tent and all the tools neatly packed into the bed we were going to put back on the truck after lunch.
The picture at the beginning of this thread is the sight I saw as I stepped out my truck holding 63 grand tacos.
I would appreciate you folks keeping this story on the down low, as I'm thinking my luck is about to take another turn and I should be brushing up my resume . Happy New Year

I think the guy bought the truck thought he could make the payments let a friend “borrow” so that he could use the gap insurance to walk away from it. My POS brother did this back when he bought a brand new Chevy and then lost his job two days later. He was then at a buddies house and a “friend” of a “friend” needed to take his mom to the hospital. The truck was found 2 days later stripped on blocks in the middle of Azusa canyon California. The dinged his credit and my moms credit and the gap insurance covered it.
