    goddamnit.

    :anonymous:

But really, since I'm here... A "unicorn" isn't a truck in good condition with low miles and no rust. A "true" unicorn is something that would be considered rare, even when it came off the factory floor. Like a doublecab TRD 4x4 with a factory 5 speed. A rare factory configuration or something that was custom ordered.

Sunlight only 6 months out of the year, expensive to live, extreme temperatures? How is that better than Sunny Texas?

Yeah... I’m not buying a 17 year old vehicle driven less than 3k miles a year.

Can you imagine getting those spark plugs out or the drain bolts for the diff?

Hard pass. Vehicles that sit all the time have more issues than ones driven all the time.

I bought my 2008 with 43,000 miles in November, 2017. It made a few funny pulley noises probably due to the old age and low miles.

I’ll take -20° winters all day over 100° summers. You can actually enjoy being outside during the summer here and then wear warm clothes and still enjoy being outside in the winter. The hunting, fishing and outdoor activities are all way better. I’ll take all of that in exchange for a higher cost of living with a better quality of life.

I actually am kind of envious of the lack of light thing.

I have like reverse seasonal effective disorder. The long ass days of summer kill me. I sleep like a baby in the winter with more darkness.

    Everything but the driveshaft. B03A - 410
This might be of interest to someone looking for one with under 56,000 miles. If it always lived around Batesville, I doubt it has seen any salt.

Nevermind. Just saw the title is damaged.

Well, my 04 turd is kinda like that. 5 speed, j shift, e-locker, and supercharger. So I guess my turd is “unicorn plus”?

OME, SPC UCA, ARB w/warn 10K winch, TG Rock Defense Rear, Marlin Clutch, Custom hi clearance under bed spare mount. 285/75/16. A ton of repairs done and a list up to come modifications.
I bought my truck with 45K miles on it. I was thinking low miles= lots of life left but that's not always the case.
Most of the rubber had cracked and rotted, cab bushings, belts, timming belt, control arm bushings so that was an expense.
The suspension was was like a boat with bumps so I had to do the springs too.
The alternator went out, and the starter.
The spring and bushing for the clutch had worn so that burned the clutch out prematurely from not fully engaging but the fluid had sat in the master cylinder and it so I had to replace master and slave too.
The rubber brake lines where cracked, so those had to be replaced, and the rubber around the front calipers where cracked so them to and of course the rear rubber line and the rubber around the wheel cylinder was also rotted away and had to be cracked.
The gas had sat and clogged the injectors so they had to be replaces with the fuel line.
Most of the rubber hoses have been replaced and of course the tires and battery where first.

I would have been much better off buying one with a lot more miles for less money knowing I was going to have to do that work.
But inside the cab looks brand spanking new.

Damn yeah you really had to bring that back to life, I got mine with 24k miles on it a few years ago and some of the things you mentioned (suspension and bushings mostly) needed to be done but my timing belt and cab mounts are still good, still on the original starter, alternator, master cylinder, etc.

My AC has been pretty bad since I got the truck, that's something I still need to get worked on. I replaced a lot of things not so much because they needed it but because I was upgrading to aftermarket stuff anyway. I'm about to replace the carrier bearing because that rubber is pretty worn. Also have had to replace the lower ball joints twice in 60k miles but that's largely due to the offroading. Going to be doing my outer tie rods soon too.
