 LOCATED!!! Ol blue is home safe, no obvious damage but I haven’t been able to start her yet because the thief took the keys and I can’t find my spare, a new ignition cylinder is being installed tomorrow. Luckily my truck door key is different from my ignition key because of an earlier ignition cylinder repair. I have my house keys and my truck door key separated from the rest and they didn’t get those, thank you deer Lord. They did get my trailers lock keys and I had to replace my trailer locks immediately after the thievery took place.

I can’t believe I found her. I went to O’Reillys for kill switch fixins for my 85 4Runner so it doesn’t get stolen, got the stuff and headed home. Fellow TWmember posted this
and as I pulled up to my house, bummed that I didn’t see my truck, I thought about that post then thought, what the hell, why not drive around some more. Said to my doggo, “well sh*t bud, you wanna go see if we can find our f**king truck?” And kept driving past my house, the direction I knew the thief went. Not thinking I’m actually going to find it, I drove toward the gas station that on the night of the theft minutes after, I saw 3 cops that when I told them what was going down they told me they were busy and I needed to call 911:thumbsup: thanks for nothing officers the wife’s already doing that at home.

Anyways, back to coming home from O’Reillys, I go back to that gas station and I’m thinking “I bet that fucker drove right past those cops sitting at that gas station.” So I drove to the gas station kept going 3 streets north, turned east onto 14th and as I’m passing 3 apartment buildings out of the corner of my eye in the parking of a building, low and behold there I see it! Slammed the brakes flipped a bitch and parked where I could see it and called the cops. Got a tow truck to bring her home. And wohoooo!!!!!
    She’s safe and sound.

oh and to prevent this from happening again, put a killswitch or two on the truck. So if the thief ever comes back, he will find it much more complicated to drive away with it :p

That was exactly my thought, I got two today

    Wohoo!!!

So lucky, I was expecting to find her all chopped up

Yeah!! Thanks! I didn’t ever think I would actually just drive past it, I’m still just in disbelief about the whole situation

No doubt! I need to get her off of the daily driver routine and get a marlin or something for the mountains!

Kill switch would help AND NOT LEAVING YOUR KEYS IN IT!!!!!

Glad you found it. Did the police take any fingerprints or is that just what they do on TV? I wonder if the apartment complex has any video surveillance.

So glad that you got it back, good job staying vigilant and doing your own work. I would be tempted to wipe down every surface inside with Lysol or something. It would feel "dirty" to me.

Great news, and thanks for the update.

Thanks! And yes, no leaving keys. I can’t believe I did, and of course the one time I do, at like 8:45pm some f*cker go checking doors. I don’t feel great about it :bananadead:

And I think that’s just the movies, there’s not much your gonna do with a tweakers prints, maybe if it had been chopped up I would be asking for some investigation. They didn’t even steal my ultra gauge which is right there In front of your face but took all my pennies and nickels and dimes. Drug addict for sure

Thank you, I’ve put 100,000 miles on it and done so much to keep her going, I’m also so close to breaking 400,000 I would have been devastated if it didn’t show up for that and so many other things.

you would think the cops would drive the neighborhood where a car was stolen, but honestly, they didn’t give a sh*t about my stolen car. The cop asked me, how’d you find it?!? “Umm, I drove around and looked for it”

I found it 1.5 miles away from my house on the roads, less than a 5 min drive going the speed limit. 4xdog was right on the money. Thanks again, that post is why I was looking in those areas

Okay now I’m dealing with trying to put my new ignition cylinder in, the problem I have is that the thief has my keys, I lost my spare.

I need to get the ignition to the ACC position in order to remove it, if there are any members that have an idea of how I can go about this in the best way? if you can personal message me so that we aren’t posting how to bypass the key on public forums, I would appreciate it. But let’s not post it in the forum
