I am a new member but, have been looking on the board since shopping for a new 2016 Tacoma last fall. I previously owned a 2008 access cab. I wanted to introduce myself and tell everyone about my experience purchasing my truck. I have seen quite a few members looking for invoice deals and wanted to share my experience.

I live in the Chicago area and was frustrated after difficulties working with local dealers regarding price and all the many extra fees they like to add into the price of the vehicle beyond msrp. I found the vehicle I was looking for online at Uebelhor, Toyota in Jasper, IN. A Inferno DCSB I4 4x2. I contacted Ron Gooding, Internet Sales Manager and Ron gave me dealer invoice price right off the bat. That price was several thousand less than the quotes I was receiving locally in Chicago (some dealers were even asking above msrp). There were no additional fees or hidden dealer costs. The price Ron quoted was the price I paid + tax out the door. The ease of working with Ron and the clear pricing made it well worth the while of the 10 hour round trip drive from Chicago to get the vehicle.

Also, my truck came with the factory predator side steps. I will probably be selling these because I want to replace them with something different. Feel free to message me if interested.

Thanks for the info. I think that family owns all the dealerships in that area...

Did you note the German slant to the town? I've been there a few times and found some who actually stil speak it as their first language tho they are not first gen peeps. Also so cool Amish stuff.

This place is ok too and very reasonably priced...

Thanks for the info Joe. Unfortunately I was only in Jasper for about a hour. I drove 5 hours in the morning from Chicago. Got the deal done and drove home that afternoon. I did notice that must be a prominent family name in Jasper. I saw the name on a park as well.

just to let people know, you were given the customer invoice price. The dealership paid nowhere near that for the truck

Bought my truck from Ron on 11/9/15. I'm across the state line here in Olney, IL. I'll buy another one from him in a couple years. I'm really taking a liking to the Inferno, (May be my next color.)

You are correct. But, still was way better than the deals I was seeing locally. Saved about $4K vs what the dealer in my area wanted for similar truck. Over MSPR plus all kinds of ridiculous dealer add on fees.

that's a good deal. I just get tired of dealerships using that invoice number and saying that's what they paid for it. We got ours for 500 under msrp back in december. That was a good deal for socal. A good deal for you , too

I have driven 4x2 pickups in Chicago the past 24 years. Just need to have some common sense and know where you can't go during a snowstorm. They do a really good job of plowing the roads here anyway so never really had a issue. Funny thing is most of the cars I see off the road in a ditch during the snow season are the bigger 4x4 suv's.
