Well I've got the ECGS bearing coming in on Thursday. Hopefully I can get it installed in the coming weeks. If that doesn't tighten up the inner CV play and get rid of the clunk, then I'm going to rent a GoPro for a day and get as much footage as possible to see if I can find what's moving.

I used ROCA bushings. They are similar to oem, so time will tell

ROCA. It seems that I'm the 1st to use them so only time will tell.

Ok well I got some clunking going on as well with mine. I already have upgraded bushings and aftermarket control arms both upper and lower. The CV's are well greased and have been recently rebuilt both inner and outers, no sway bar, body mounts for the radiator support are upgraded as well, not the body, however. I almost think it is the brake pads shifting because everything else is nice and tight and taken care of.

It almost seems as if these trucks are built with very sloppy tolerances to allow all that noise to happen. It's not embarrassing, but I don't like hearing all that.

Definitely not the leafs in the rear. I actually very recently replaced the broken and bent center pins on boh sides which required taking everything apart and retorquing down the u bolts to the plates after it was all said and done.

I also do not have any axle wrap occuring on the leafs as well.

Thanks man! It's a battle I've been searching a solution for, for over 2 years and since I never have an extra hand it's difficult to find a resolution.

You did the needle bearing TSB to it? What was wrong with yours again? Interesting because mine have always appeared to operate very smoothly.

Yeah see I think it is because we lack an upper retention spring on the fixed calipers. Apparently there are slots built into the calipers to accept an upper spring too so some of the clanking can be eliminated. I know it happens after the pads have started to go low after a while, or the lubrication on the hardware which the pads mount on runs out.

I'm pretty sure all my clunking/rattling is body mounts but I won't know for sure until I get them replaced. I have the ES kit coming.

Looks like I developed the popping noise also. Only does it on reverse every now and then front driver side. I will do some investigating tomorrow.

Trying to find the clunk. I will wait until summer to get down to it.

So my clunking has gotten significantly worse, and so has the play in my driver's side CV. I can grab the CV shaft and move the inner joint every which way.

Just for grins, I put it in 4HI and parked in the garage, and when I tried to move (not rotate) the CV shaft it was SOLID. I'm hoping to get a day in the next couple of weeks to do the ECGS bearing swap. Hopefully that takes out the CV axle play and gets rid of the clunk.
