Yeah, it's too big to go down the hole.

But not in the tailpipe. It would easily go down the tailpipe.

Ford doesn’t release the key cut code to the dealer until it has those documents. It’s not up to the dealer. You have to submit that info to Ford first.

Well that's pretty smart. Good for them...

Of course Fords still get stolen. I'm not sure why anyone would steal a Ford, and especially if someone is smart enough to get around the smart preventative measures... but it does happen.

    Final update.
After this fiasco began 3 months ago I can finally say it’s over. The dealership had it trying to fix a few issues with the original repair that I was dissatisfied with. Steering wheel alignment was off and they had damaged the wheel itself (small scratches and one chip). And my remote start wasn’t working.

It feels and looks brand new now. Protect your trucks. This was a huge pain in the ass.

I keep my truck key on its own keychain just in case I lose the key or get truckjacked at least they don't have my house key also since the registration has my home address. Cops are b*tchy in WA and try to get money any way they can and if you get pulled over for not having your registration it's icing on the cake.

I drive a manual, if only 5% of cars are manuals, my theory is that only 5% of car thiefs can drive one. I call it my backup security system.

All in jest, glad to read the truck was recovered and repaired, all be it with a ton of headaches

Things like that make me appreciate my property. Fence, gate, cameras, long driveway.

Thanks for the update. Glad it all worked out for you. But yes what a frickin hassle. In light of this I decided to go old School. For 90$ CDN hopefully they move on. But yes, if they really want it they will get it. I live in a port city. Easier for them to quickly stuff it in a container and ship it out.

Put it on with the key towards the dash. It takes away most ways to tamper with the lock and it’s not harder to use really.

Years ago I watched a show of car thieves showing the audience what works best to stop a car thief. The club looked like it would work but the thief took a hacksaw blade and cut through the steering wheel in under 1 minute. When asked, he said that cutting through the club was pretty much impossible to do in a short time but the steering wheel was very easy to cut through. The hidden kill switch for the ignition was the one that stopped the thief even when he knew that was how they had disabled the car. It was well hidden under the dash. As for the club, took him about 30 seconds to saw through the steering wheel (not the club) and drive the car off the stage.

This was brought up in another thread. Apparently for shipping out of country, thieves do not want to damage the steering wheel for some reason. If it's just joy riding kids they may not care and cut the steering wheel as they will most likely just dump, part out or burn the vehicle.

The whole idea of the club is to get them to steal the truck of the guy who says the club isn’t going to do anything instead of mine.

FWIW - You don't have to have a physical copy of your registration in your vehicle. You could also take a photo of it w your phone. Plus they already have your vehicle info(unless you're using a burner plate) when they are in the process of pulling you over..

It probably wasn’t put into the fuel tank but attached to the fuel door.
