So sorry to hear this. I spoke recently with Toyota about their Connected Services since I’m coming up on the end of the first free year. They have three different $8 per month services and I asked them if my truck were stolen can I call up and activate the Destination Assist for a single month so I can track where my truck is. They said yes and many do this.

I work in an area that's not so great, I literally just started using a club, about 2 weeks now, figured with the tent, racks, and all the other stuff on it,
the club would deter them from stealing it, hopefully that's the case, but anything can be stolen nowadays~ sorry for your loss, hopefully they find it!!

Actually my wife and kids wont allow me to park behind anyone, so they can get out easier. So they would have to make it at least a 2 car event at my house. Then our Goldendoodle would have woken up the entire house. She knows when a new bird enteres the area. :woot:

Use anti-RFID pouches. You can search Amazon for them. They work. You can't unlock your door or start your engine when your key is in one.

    Nah, don’t play games.

if you want to que off research into security issues you need to give a start. The fundamental nature of the system is that it uses Apple products as the backbone for how it works, to claim that the fundamental structure of the program is the security flaw without identifying at least a minimum start to the flaw is misdirection.

to claim you are IT security from (insert secret agent) and you know of some security flaw, but you are not going to provide even the minimum of information necessary is an easily identified debate fallacy.

So no games, identify the flaw or post research. You don’t have to identify who you work for and if it’s so easy to find on Google doing so won’t identify you. So buck up or stop playing little games trying to imply something without having to offer proof by claim of superior knowledge.

so post it up or we will consider it a lie. And yes, we know the next response is going to be some deflection of identifying yourself, blah blah blah. If the next response isn’t info you are lying

    Great News!

If a damaged door is all that was "initially" found, you're very fortunate.

Have the dealership...or a certified tech of your choosing...evaluate/functional check/sign off that is is good-to-go with warranty intact (if that applies).

I hope that all goes well.

Excellent. Sounds like the cops found it right before it got put in a shipping container destined for a shaithole country.

Happy you found it! post a pic when you get it back!

Heads up a club isn't going to do anything. They'll either cut the steering wheel and slip it off. Or drill through the lock in 20 seconds.

Good to know, the system I'm using still gives me peace of mind. Last month I was on vacation with one of my VW's when it suffered a traumatic break-down (I snapped a Spindle and lost a wheel). I had to leave it at a repair shop in a small town in rural Utah for two days ~12 miles from where I was staying. The repair shop didn't know the car had a Tracker on it but checking it allowed me to see when they were working on it (because it moved from their yard where the Tow Truck dropped it off, into their shop) and allowed me to make sure that it wasn't going for any Joy Rides (it's a Subaru-powered VW Thing). It didn't, they fixed it, moved it outside then called me to tell me it was ready to be picked-up as I was driving to the shop since I'd gotten an alert that it had moved.

To the OP, I'm stoked that you're getting your truck back! I hope it's in good shape!

The cop said it’s another layer that helps to get them to move on to an easier target. They see allot so it’s worth a try.

The plan this morning is to get it towed back to the local Toyota dealership here or the one I bought it from and get them to repair and thoroughly evaluate it. I want to see what my insurance is willing to do. I would like it completely cleaned to. This truck was my baby. It had ZERO scratches or issues. And only 12000 km on it (7500 miles). They did something to the computer because my app has this alert now DB713F10-7911-442F-B7DA-A0EB714C625F.jpg

Honestly it's easier than trying to steal one with a fob as it requires less tech. There are videos on YouTube on how to bypass immobilizers and even make a transponder bypass kit, it's dummy easy.
