FOUND: My truck was stolen last night- Fxck!

UPDATE 2:
I’ve been on the phone with the insurance and they have arranged to have the truck brought back to the local dealership today and I’ll get a call to take a look at it. I expressed that I don’t want to take possession of the vehicle before it has had a thorough inspection. She said absolutely they have a detailed checklist that the dealership will have to follow including reprogramming my keys, repairing the door handle and any other associated damage/scratches etc. Plus a thorough cleaning.

I hope to see it before the end of the day.

 

I don't get it... steal a truck, mess it up a bit, drive it a bit, leave it in a parking lot.

I'd figure they would strip it, sell the CAT right away, sell the tires/wheels, sell the tailgate, ..

I mean why fk it up a little and just drive it around.

Then again, criminals aren't very smart... me, I'm not built for prison life.

 

I was talking to a Taco friend who I I play Hockey with last week. This week, he told me his Taco was stolen. A few of them & Lexus's were stolen from my neighbourhood that night.

Thank god I have a garage!

True, but after a while those start to fail too. I got one a while back, tons of good reviews, double layer...blah blah blah, then I noticed that I was able to unlock my driver side door while my fob was in the pouch properly closed !

They hit the whole area, I bet they filled their sea containers up and had no room for this one. Ditch it and move on. Nothing like getting caught under a stolen truck cutting the cats off while you are in the middle of a large scale auto theft operation.

Time to a get a pet timber rattler and leave it in the truck overnight. Deny ownerhip if a thief is found expired in your truck.

 

I've heard of this. Some people go to sleep and go into a state of partial death where they don't realize anything going on around them until they wake up.

UPDATE 3: Well it’s back in the area. The worst damage is where they took a hammer to the antenna on the roof. The door handle is a simple replacement. They went through the glove compartment. I never keep anything in the truck anyway.

 

That antenna bashing was to disable Toyota connect.

Or since they were the local friendly Candian Thief they wanted to install the OEM roof rack and the shark fin was blocking the cross bars. So they gave it a little love tap to fit.

Truck looks in good overall shape though. Little bit of shop work and you might have it back in a week.

 

Where do you live?

 

My concern now is rust where they have to repaint the roof.
