I have a 2018 Tacoma TRD Pro and I have blind spot monitoring.

My son and I drove down the national seashore to hang out. The problem is that I messed up the calibration of my BSM. When on the trail or super bumpy area ( like a beach) TURN OFF the blind spot stuff It makes you lose the calibration.

Not sure if this has been addressed but thought y’all might want to know

So simply turning it off and back on makes it lose calibration?

I think he means if you don't turn it off while offroading or on very bumpy roads, it will lose calibration.

Makes no sense. I unplugged my battery to install Meso lights. Even had a new windshield replaced with battery unplugged. No issues.

    Interesting...

I have BSM and never turn it off...driven hundreds of miles on shitty back country "roads" and have never had an issue.

    :notsure:

I agree that it shouldn't lose it for those reasons. But have they been to Los Angeles, forget the dirt roads and trails. The streets are rougher than the trails sometimes.

I live by where they "redid" the 5 freeway. Well the company that redid it should earn a reward for actually turning a old bumpy freeway into endless whoops with poorly drawn lines.

Mine’s been on for 2 1/2 years with no issues. Every thing from freeways to goat trails.

Are you thinking of the yaw & zero point sensors? I did some offroading on a pretty nasty stretch of deep, loose sand & it threw off my yaw sensor & zero point calibration settings (I think that's what it was called). Had to take it to the dealership to get the system reset. The truck turned off VSC, BSM and all the other nanny gadgets until it was reset, so that's why I'm asking.

The construction on the 5 up there was so frustrating, I'm glad I wasn't living there anymore while it was going on but anytime I went up there to visit my dad or driving through to get to some trails it was always a huge pain because of that construction. I'm still not entirely sure what they were trying to accomplish, traffic doesn't seem any better than it was before

I was driving the beach in really crappy conditions. I was actually trying to get my truck stuck but I never had to use 4wheel drive.

So before doing bumpy roads just turn it off

Don’t want it to happen to y’all and get the stupid alerts

Let me guess, dealer told you so, right? Well let me tell you, dealers sometimes are full of sh!t. I've heard so much of dumbasseness from various dealers that I am not surprised anymore.

Hey I was trying to help! If you think it’s BS don’t look at it. This is why people don’t post on here.
