Yeah, in Colorado, you'd probably have enough traction with a locked 2wd. However, the hills are steep and the altitude is extremely high. Engines DOG up there without oxygen. When I'm in 4hi, I can barely even move. You floor it up the steep trails and you're literally going like 3 mph. The 4lo gear range is a massive advantage.

The Glade would pretty much just suck ass with a 2wd.

I have a bunch more, but my satellite internet takes forever to upload photos... Those 5 took about 15 minutes...

Maybe I'll take my laptop somewhere with free wifi and up load them all...

    GREAT PICTURES.
It is absolutely beautiful there. I'm totally jealous. I would have settled for being in the passenger side even. Nice job guys. I'm sure another trip there with this run as a bench mark will be more successful in the future.

Here are some that my dad and I made. A lot of ours are similar to the earlier posts, but these are a little different.

Hey now, easy tiger.:) I hand picked some of the best/most famous stuff out here. Beating it would be difficult. I know everything out here quite well and Graham, the other guide, knows the area even better. Better trails are hard to come by and more people would cause logistical camping and traffic problems. The one thing I felt unrest about was the inability to hit Poughkeepsie Gulch (Still snowed in). Oh well, good crowd, good times.

I don't know the temps but it was just plain hot. We camped at Alta Lakes which is 11,300 feet. That's way higher than where we camped at probably a hair over 9,000 ft. I never had more than a fleece vest on at night. That's unheard of at that altitude.

Not sure what you mean, "more successful"? I thought this trip was very successful, and I am sure there are other guys that would agree. I am sure there will be another trip like this, but it will be hard to top this one.
