Truck failed frame inspection. I've got some thinking to do...

???? As in you prepped it for frame replacement and now no new frame?

 

No, by failed I mean the frame is bad and needs replacement.

 

Ah. So get new frame and sell it?

 

Honestly don't know yet. I've got some thinking to do.

you just went in today for the inspection? i thought you had already had that done and were in line for a replacement.

Also, make damn sure your dealer is competent before you turn them lose on the replacement, as mine has dropped the ball completely, and when i asked them to pick it up, they threw it at my face.

 

What went wrong?

 

They left the cap off the power steering resivior so it puked everywhere when I started it (although I admit this was partially my fault for not checking), fog lights didn't work at first, then suddenly did. They left my tag lights and trailer connector unplugged, the trailer connector dosent work, and there's some mechanical creak/bang from the front end when you move the truck for the first time after being parked. Took it back and they "couldn't find anything wrong". So, I'm trying to find a more experienced dealer to fix everything, or at least tell me what's wrong so I can fix it.

 

The dealership I went to has done many of them and I have confidence that it will be executed properly. I have a bigger decision to make on whether or not I'm going to keep it.

 

Yeah. Your far more modded than me, and I can see that making a frame replacement difficult.

 

We'll, I will be breaking out the sawsall this weekend. -_-

 

I appreciate that but I'm pretty sure I can handle that one myself - however I do want those rear shocks.

 

I'd keep it after a replacement! I know there'll be lots of work involved but everything can be done right the first time on the new frame and you'll know what you're doing
