Just found your build blog and scoured your build description but didn't find any info on your mirrors.

What mirrors did you go with? They look like the flip-up style but it's tough to tell. Do you like the way they perform?

Need to get something wider so I can see along the sides of the flatbed when backing up.

Any info would be great - THANKS!!

Sorry, just saw your post. Yes, the mirrors are an aftermarket flip up variety. unfortunately can't remember the manufacturer they do shake a fair amount compared to stock. I also have never felt the need to actually flip up them up as they stick out far enough. I'll check and see my buying history. They are heated but do not have the traffic alert feature.

What are you guys doing for the front mounts? I'm looking at buying a used Swift that's on a DCSB and FWC tells me the mounts for the short and long beds use different front mounts. I was thinking of hefty d-rings on the front bed bolts to attach the turnbuckles to but I'm not sure what the spacing looks like.

Yeah, probably wouldn't be cheap. You think the front mount point and turn buckles could be attached to the d-rings bolted through the bedside up front as a temporary solution to get home and wait for the right parts?

Those are really weak attachment points for something that weight with the composite bed. If you could get a d-ring that works with the bed mounting bolt and use a heavy ratchet strap that should get you home safely. Not sure if you've been over to Wander the West but those guys might have some input.

I've been digging through old threads over there as well trying to see what people have come up with. I think d-rings on the bed bolts will work fine after looking into how the Swift mounts in a 5' bed. The FWC bracket sets the turnbuckle mounts out a couple inches wider than the bolts and the 6' bed Tacomas have wider bolt spacing up front anyway. Hard to know for sure though with just going off pictures and videos rather than seeing the stuff in person.

If all goes as planned I’ll be picking up a 94 Ranger shell model that has been all redone. The model sits pretty flush with the bed sides and sticks out just a little on a 6’ bed. Will post picks after purchase

Hey guys so I just picked up my new to me used four wheel camper. The person I bought it from wasn’t the original owner but rebuilt the whole camper and did an awesome job. The camper is a 94 but looks brand new. He said it was a ranger model but looks like maybe an eagle. It’s not as wide as the fleet models and only over hangs the bed rails a small amount which I like. My fenders are still the widest point of the truck. I have a question on rear suspension. I plan on taking the camper on and off and I currently have an icon AAL with Falcon tow haul shocks. I put the shocks on the heaviest setting and with the camper on and only saw a little bit of sag. The truck rides good but I’m thinking I’ll need some air bags or something to help. I’d like to replace the leaf pack with a heavy duty but don’t want the harsh ride when unloaded. Would you guys recommend adding bags? Are sumosprings any good? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks5DBB62AF-F558-4B8F-B155-327528946B6D.jpg

Forest Service sticker, upper left corner of the box top, green with a tree.
EDIT. It's not a USFS sticker but looks like one.
