Nice setup!! Very similar to my old one. How far south have you taken it? We made in to CR before the border shutdowns of covid. Unfortunately sold the FWC since returning.

Does anyone know off hand what the lead times are for FWCs currently?

Last summer FWC's lead time was 16 months. My guess it's now 18 months or more unless they increased their production rate. Give them a call and they'll tell you. You can also call some of their distributors. They have some reserved build dates and maybe you could snag one that's sooner than 1.5 years.

We were just at the 50th Anniversary meet in Borrego and they mentioned an 18 month lead but were hoping to get "caught up" since they just moved to a new facility in Woodland.

Like @Hiker46 said, give them a call. I was at their Woodland site in July and they had a Swift and a Fleet showroom model up for sale. They might have been clearing inventory prior to their move but all you need is a phone call to find out.

For you guys with Tacoma's and a FWC in the bed. What do you air down to for washboard dirt roads? i used to go to 20psi prior to the camper. think i'm still safe to go down to 20? I'm on E rated 285/75/R16's. Makes a huge diff in ride quality when I dropped the psi.

Nice! on that note what are you running on the road? I'm seeing people say as high up as 60psi in the rear... Seems high.

It’s been awhile, I believe I was running around 50psi interstate, maybe slightly more. Especially with Load E tires and a regular cab, I never felt like I had to adjust it much compared to empty.

If I was to guess I’d say it looks like a rare clear morning at Lake Arenal across at volcan Arenal, Costa Rica. We’re right now in SW Costa Rica for five weeks without our beloved full-time home:

    Just the basics
When I had my FWC I would usually be around 45lbs on the highway and aired down to around 30lbs off-road. I still do the same with my new setup. I guess I could have aired down even more.

After 40,000 miles with a four wheel camper flatbed fleet full time on our Tacoma we run 45/50 lbs normally. On a washboard road we will air down 1/3 to 30/35 lbs which really helps to smooth out the ride. On soft sand in Baja we would air down 2/3 to 15/18 lbs. This made a huge difference in soft sand capability. Adding another 5 pounds of pressure in soft sand would result in being stuck even with front and rear lockers engaged.

    We’re running BF Goodrich KO2s in a load E 275/70/17

Our weight is roughly 3,000 lbs up front, 4,000 in the rear

the trails I've gone on so far are mostly washboard sand so I'm down to 15ish psi with the camper
