i carry heavier duty ones as spares but so far zero issues with the stock turnbuckles.
just tighten them to what a 3/8" bolt feels like it should get torqued to, and no loosening yet (I check every morning minimum)

Haha, I actually sold the Rpod. I towed it just from storage to home to get it ready for the sale. It actually hauled it quite well with my gearing and suspension mods but I was completely empty no camping gear and it felt pretty maxed out. Had to snap a photo and share it.

Just throwing this out there; is any four wheel camper owners here relatively local to Washington that are considering going to a smaller set up like a Drifter?

I saw you had yours posted but yea logistically that won’t really work lol we love our drifter but growing family is making me consider something a little larger. Even a project M or something.

next place we checked out was all the way at the tip of the keweenaw peninsula. basically the northern tip of Michigan
went a bit farther on the rocks than most subarus are probably willing to go, so we had the place to ourselves (and the 100000000 mosquitoes)
first day was a rain out, but the camper kept us dry and comfortable, got to read a book for a day, which i never seem to have time to do recently, so that was a nice change of pace.

in the small gaps between rain we braved the skeeters and took some walks along the beach

after the rainy day we were treated to days of sunshine and fewer mosquitoes due to a steady breeze.
i hooked a beautiful giant rainbow trout off our raft but because i forgot to pack a net we tried paddling to shore to reel it in but it jumped off the hook before landing it.
so we starved that night. no not really, fridge and pantry are still stocked so we still ate well, just no fresh trout. maybe next time.

last location we found was just too epic and nice to share details on, so only some non-location-giveaway pics on here
great long sunsets (due to the high latitude) and nice firewood (driftwood) all over

Great looking setup. Do you have the Fleet model? And, what suspension mods did you make?

Thanks, yup, it's the fleet front dinette

front is just on the OME BP-51s, rear is 3/4 ton GM 63" leafs with 12" Fox 2.0 shocks with airlift air springs on daystar cradles. pretty simple setup

Installed an add a leaf to my Dakar medium duty pack to beef it up to the heavy pack. Also used some old scrap metal to fabricate some better brackets. The Firestone ride right brackets were not making contact with the axle and needed to be extended. They were starting to bend.

don't mind the crappy welds I'm still learning.
